The prognostic value of CK20, Ki-67, and p53 has been investigated for non-muscle-invasive urothelial bladder cancers but not for the distinct and clinically challenging subset of pT1 bladder cancers. ⋯ Our present analysis of the largest series of patients with pT1 urothelial bladder cancer published to date found Ki-67 and CK20 to be potential prognostic markers improving the risk stratification of pT1 bladder tumours. They are reliable indicators of biologic aggressiveness and may contribute to decision making on therapeutic strategy for pT1 bladder carcinomas.

The prevalence of kidney stone disease is rising along with increasing rates of obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and metabolic syndrome. ⋯ Among persons with T2DM, more-severe disease is associated with a heightened risk of kidney stones.

Conventional cross-sectional imaging with computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has limited accuracy for lymph node (LN) staging in bladder and prostate cancer patients. ⋯ Combined USPIO-DW-MRI improves detection of metastases in normal-sized pelvic LNs of bladder and/or prostate cancer patients in a short reading time.

Incidence of prostate cancer after termination of screening in a population-based randomised screening trial.
In a previous publication from the Göteborg randomised screening trial from 2010, biennial prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening for men ≤69 yr of age was shown to lower prostate cancer (PCa) mortality by 44%. The evidence of the optimal age to stop screening, however, is limited. ⋯ Nine years after the termination of PSA testing, the incidence of potentially lethal cancers equals that of nonscreened men. Considering the high PCa mortality rate in men >80 yr of age, a general age of 70 yr to discontinue screening might be too low. Instead, a flexible age to discontinue based on individual risk stratification should be recommended.
