Letrozole versus clomiphene for infertility in the polycystic ovary syndrome.
Clomiphene is the current first-line infertility treatment in women with the polycystic ovary syndrome, but aromatase inhibitors, including letrozole, might result in better pregnancy outcomes. ⋯ As compared with clomiphene, letrozole was associated with higher live-birth and ovulation rates among infertile women with the polycystic ovary syndrome. Effects of hypothermia for perinatal asphyxia on childhood outcomes.
In the Total Body Hypothermia for Neonatal Encephalopathy Trial (TOBY), newborns with asphyxial encephalopathy who received hypothermic therapy had improved neurologic outcomes at 18 months of age, but it is uncertain whether such therapy results in longer-term neurocognitive benefits. ⋯ Moderate hypothermia after perinatal asphyxia resulted in improved neurocognitive outcomes in middle childhood.
