Case Records of the Mass General Hospital. Case 7-2015: A 25-year-old man with oral ulcers, rash, and odynophagia.
A 25-year-old man presented with oral ulcers and odynophagia. On examination, there were scattered pink papules and plaques on the trunk, thighs, and buttocks and multiple raised, erythematous nodules on both shins. A diagnostic procedure was performed.

Incidence estimates of hospitalizations for community-acquired pneumonia among children in the United States that are based on prospective data collection are limited. Updated estimates of pneumonia that has been confirmed radiographically and with the use of current laboratory diagnostic tests are needed. ⋯ The burden of hospitalization for children with community-acquired pneumonia was highest among the very young, with respiratory viruses the most commonly detected causes of pneumonia. Maternal obesity is associated with increased risks of gestational diabetes, large-for-gestational-age infants, preterm birth, congenital malformations, and stillbirth. The risks of these outcomes among women who have undergone bariatric surgery are unclear. ⋯ Bariatric surgery was associated with reduced risks of gestational diabetes and excessive fetal growth, shorter gestation, an increased risk of small-for-gestational-age infants, and possibly increased mortality. A marked increase in the number of cases of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) infection occurred in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in early 2014. We evaluated patients with MERS-CoV infection in Jeddah to explore reasons for this increase and to assess the epidemiologic and clinical features of this disease. ⋯ The majority of patients in the Jeddah MERS-CoV outbreak had contact with a health care facility, other patients, or both.
