Despite a focus on the incidence and effects of concussion, nondisclosure of sports-related concussions among retired players from the National Football League (NFL) has yet to be examined. ⋯ A large proportion of former NFL players in this historical cohort reported at least one instance of not disclosing sports-related concussions to medical staff. Future research on concussion nondisclosure needs to identify mechanisms to improve football players' intentions to disclose concussion-related symptoms to health care providers and to equip health care providers with more effective strategies for timely identification of concussion.

Few studies have documented the outcomes of superior labral anterior-posterior (SLAP) repairs in baseball players. Furthermore, the results of these previous studies varied widely and were based on small numbers of patients. Hypothesis/Purpose: The purpose was to report return-to-play (RTP) rates and validated subjective outcome scores for baseball players after SLAP repair. It was hypothesized that RTP rates and outcomes would be significantly different between pitchers and nonpitchers, as well as among baseball levels. ⋯ SLAP repair should continue to be considered as an option for SLAP tear treatment only after nonsurgical management has failed. Some players may be able to return to baseball after SLAP repair, although regaining preinjury health and performance is challenging.

Borderline developmental dysplasia of the hip (BDDH) is frequently diagnosed concurrently with cam impingement. While hip arthroscopy has advanced the treatment of hip joint pathology, including femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), arthroscopic treatment for FAI in the setting of BDDH remains a challenge amid a subset of patients. The risk factors of poor clinical results after hip arthroscopic labral preservation and FAI corrections in the setting of BDDH patients have not been well established. ⋯ Preoperative predictors of poorer outcomes from hip arthroscopic labral preservation, capsular plication, and cam osteoplasty in the setting of BDDH are age ≥42 years old, broken Shenton line, osteoarthritis, Tönnis angle ≥15°, and VCA angle ≤17° on preoperative radiographs. Intraoperative predictors of poorer outcomes are severe acetabular chondral damage and even mild femoral chondral damage. Although the patients in the setting of BDDH may have good outcomes from isolated hip arthroscopy, caution is suggested for those with the aforementioned risk factors.

The glenoid track concept describes the dynamic interaction of bipolar bone loss in anterior glenohumeral instability. Initial studies have successfully demonstrated this concept's application in clinical populations. In clinical practice, the Latarjet procedure is commonly the preferred treatment in addressing "off-track" Hill-Sachs lesions. The effectiveness of this procedure in restoring such lesions to an "on-track" state, however, has not yet been evaluated or described in the literature. ⋯ The Latarjet procedure provides an effective treatment for "off-track" engaging Hill-Sachs lesions, despite an evident glenoid remodeling process. At a mean of 23 months postoperatively, a mean persisting enlargement of the glenoid arc of 14% beyond native dimensions remained, avoiding a recurrent "off-track" lesion in 32% of patients, which would otherwise have occurred with complete remodeling.

Fresh osteochondral allografts (OCAs) are limited in availability. The Missouri Osteochondral Allograft Preservation System (MOPS) has been reported to effectively preserve OCAs twice as long as current tissue bank protocols in preclinical studies. ⋯ Improving the viability and duration of OCA preservation provides potential benefits to tissue banks, donor families, surgeons, and patients with respect to tissue use, financial costs, and outcomes.
