The pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) caused a large number of non-ventilated hypoxemic patients to require the use of prone position. The aim of this study is to measure the efficiency and tolerance of prone positioning in ward hypoxemic patients treated for Covid-19. This retrospective study included confirmed Covid-19 hypoxemic patients treated by at least one prone position session. ⋯ Failure rate was 5%, and poor tolerance and adverse events rates were 8% and 7% respectively. Our study found that prone position in wards improved alveolar exchange during posture and is well tolerated. This technique could be used in any medical ward.

Identifying the non-survived patients' characteristics compared to survived subjects and introducing the critical risk factors of COVID-19 mortality would help enhance patients' prognosis and treatment. ⋯ The present findings demonstrated that obesity, higher levels of CRP, blood sugar, D-dimer, and lipid markers were likely to be predictive factors of COVID-19-related mortality odds.

This study examines Irish undergraduate students' behaviours and motives regarding alcohol consumption. The study explores both levels and patterns of consumption. ⋯ Given the high rates of hazardous drinking, the development of an alcohol intervention may be justified, given the high response rates to peer-screening, a peer-led intervention for alcohol-related harms may yield positive results.

The Covid-19 pandemic poses significant challenges for the management of patients with cancer. In our institution, we adapted our delivery of outpatient systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) by introducing a number of 'risk-reducing' measures including pre-assessment screening. ⋯ Though patients on active treatment for cancer during the Covid-19 pandemic reported increased anxiety and feelings of isolation due to Covid-19, the majority of patients wanted to continue SACT as originally planned. Patients would benefit from enhanced psycho-oncological supports in the event of a prolonged Covid-19 pandemic.
