Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) reflects a deficiency in the relative need for insulin during pregnancy, as well as temporary metabolic stress in the placenta and fetus. Our study aimed to research the potential diagnostic value of transforming growth factor-beta-induced protein ig-h3 (TGFBI) and transforming growth factor beta-2 proprotein (TGFB2) for GDM patients. ⋯ TGFBI and TGFB2 were up-regulated in the placenta and plasma of GDM patients, and TGFBI and TGFB2 in the plasma are potent to be diagnostic markers for the GDM.

Data from literature shows that antigen tests are rapid and helpful tools for diagnosis of COVID-19. ⋯ The comparison data obtained in this study support that this method seems a proper approach for rapid screening of patients with high SARS-CoV-2 viral load; however, the rate of sensitivity is highly Ct-dependent.

Surgical site infection (SSI) is a possible postoperative complication. Preoperative application of antiseptics on the surgical site can decrease the rate of SSIs. ⋯ According to the results, 0.2% CHX has higher antimicrobial efficacy than 10% Betadine for perioral disinfection prior to oral surgical procedures.

Using mobile application for postural assessments has been drawing a rising interest due to widespread use of smartphones. Although there are some mobile applications in use, validated mobile tools for accurate postural assessment are still warranted. ⋯ Fizyoprint application is a new, valid, free mobile tool with acceptable concordance with BioTonix™ postural analysis system for assessing standing posture. Further studies are warranted to test the current application in different populations and musculoskeletal conditions.
