Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common histological type of glioma, which has the most aggressive biological characters and the worst outcome. The targeted therapy of GBM requires more progression, and new biomarkers should be identified. ⋯ ANXA1, ANXA2, and ANXA10 are the upregulated genes in GBM. ANXA2 and ANXA10, but not ANXA1, are independent prognostic biomarkers indicating unfavorable outcome. Our results suggest that expression profiles based on ANXA10 expression may be a new classification system to predict prognosis of GBM patients.

Asia is home to a burgeoning market for telemedicine with the availability of cheaper smartphones and internet services. Due to a rise in telemedicine use by doctors and patients, it is imperative to understand the perception of patients towards the adoption of telemedicine, the availability of telemedicine to the general population, the frequency with which patients avail these services, and the motivation or apprehensions in using them, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. ⋯ Understanding the perceptions of patients, using targeted health education, positive communication, and behavioral modifications, is the key factor to be addressed to mitigate the apprehensions towards telemedicine and improve the utilization of the services.

Adherence to physical activity recommendations and barriers to physical activity participation among adults with type 1 diabetes.
Physical activity (PA) is important for those with type 1 diabetes (T1DM); however, accurate information on PA in people with T1DM is limited. ⋯ The majority of participants failed to meet PA recommendations. Meeting the recommendations was associated with healthier CVD risk factor profiles. Individuals with T1DM possibly overestimate their PA using self-reported measures and require support and education to safely improve activity levels.

The diagnostic and prognostic value of microRNAs (miRNA) in human disease has been confirmed in a number of clinical studies. ⋯ The level of miR-191-5p was down-regulated in patients with poor neurological outcomes, and it could be used as a promising novel biomarker for prediction of neurological outcome and survival after OHCA.

Medical error is frequently the result of latent systems factors. Incident reporting systems face many challenges including inability of the system to process reports adequately, inadequate feedback mechanisms and lack of staff engagement especially from doctors. This paper describes a pragmatic physician-led desktop approach to a systems analysis of anaesthesia-related critical incidents which could be used to enhance incident reporting processing within the existing national incident reporting system. ⋯ Implementing local incident reporting systems can be used to complement existing systems at the macro and mesolevel and can be used to improve system processing, create a phased response to latent errors and enhance engagement.
