Zopiclone Increases the Arousal Threshold without Impairing Genioglossus Activity in Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
To determine the effects of the nonbenzodiazepine sedative zopiclone on the threshold to arousal with increasing respiratory effort and genioglossus muscle activity and to examine potential physiological factors mediating disparate effects of zopiclone on obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) severity between patients. ⋯ Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry, http://www.anzctr.org.au, trial ID: ACTRN12614000364673.

Remote Ambulatory Management of Veterans with Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Despite significant medical sequelae of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), the condition remains undiagnosed and untreated in many affected individuals. We explored the feasibility of a comprehensive, telemedicine-based OSA management pathway in a community-based Veteran cohort. ⋯ Our pilot study suggests that telemedicine-based management of OSA patients is feasible in terms of patient functional outcomes and overall satisfaction with care. Future studies should include larger populations to further elucidate these findings while assessing provider- and patient-related cost effectiveness.

The Effect of Changes in Cardiorespiratory Fitness and Weight on Obstructive Sleep Apnea Severity in Overweight Adults with Type 2 Diabetes.
To examine the effect of changes in cardiorespiratory fitness on obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) severity prior to and following adjustment for changes in weight over the course of a 4-y weight loss intervention. ⋯ ClinicalTrials.gov identification number NCT00194259.

Efficacy of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia in Adolescents: A Randomized Controlled Trial with Internet Therapy, Group Therapy and A Waiting List Condition.
To investigate the efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBTI) in adolescents. ⋯ This study was part of the clinical trial: Effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy for sleeplessness in adolescents; URL: http://www.isrctn.com/ISRCTN33922163; registration: ISRCTN33922163.

End-Tidal Carbon Dioxide Measurement during Pediatric Polysomnography: Signal Quality, Association with Apnea Severity, and Prediction of Neurobehavioral Outcomes.
To identify the role of end-tidal carbon dioxide (EtCO2) monitoring during polysomnography in evaluation of children with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS), including the correlation of EtCO2 with other measures of OSAS and prediction of changes in cognition and behavior after adenotonsillectomy. ⋯ Childhood Adenotonsillectomy Study for Children with OSAS (CHAT). ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier #NCT00560859.
