Retreatment Efficacy of Sofosbuvir/Ombitasvir/Paritaprevir/Ritonavir + Ribavirin for Hepatitis C Virus Genotype 4 Patients.
The current standard of care for patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is a combination of direct-acting antiviral agents (DAAs). However, rare clinical trials have been reported on the combination regimen of sofosbuvir (SOF) with ombitasvir, paritaprevir, and ritonavir (OBV/PTV/r) plus ribavirin (RBV) for treated patients with HCV genotype 4 (GT4) infection. ⋯ The recent multi-targeted regimen of SOF plus OBV/PTV/r + RBV was well tolerated and achieved excellent SVR rates among retreatment-experienced Egyptian patients with prior DAA treatments failure, thus providing an alternative regimen for the retreatment of difficult-to-cure HCV GT4 patients.

Clinical Effectiveness of Submucosal Injection with Indigo Carmine Mixed Solution for Colon Endoscopic Mucosal Resection.
Submucosal injection with indigo carmine mixed solution can improve the delineation of colorectal neoplasia during endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of submucosal injection with indigo carmine mixed solution during EMR of colorectal neoplasia. ⋯ Submucosal injection with indigo carmine mixed solution did not improve the CRR or macroscopic delineation of EMR of colorectal neoplasias.

Isolated acute terminal ileitis without chronic features of inflammation poses a diagnostic challenge. Few studies have investigated the clinical significance of this entity in patients without history of inflammatory bowel disease. ⋯ Isolated acute terminal ileitis discovered on diagnostic ileocolonoscopy rarely develops to Crohn's disease. Presence of stricturing/narrowing on cross-sectional imaging may predict eventual Crohn's disease development.

Dexlansoprazole for Heartburn Relief in Adolescents with Symptomatic, Nonerosive Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease.
Proton pump inhibitors are commonly used to treat gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD) and nonerosive GERD (NERD) in adolescents and adults. Despite the efficacy of available medications, many patients have persisting symptoms, indicating a need for more effective agents. ⋯ Use of 30-mg dexlansoprazole in adolescent NERD was generally well tolerated and had beneficial effects on improving heartburn symptoms and quality of life.
