Safety and effectiveness of nano composite hydrogel stent implantation in the treatment of coronary cardiovascular disease: A preclinical study.
With the improvement of people's quality of life, various cardiovascular diseases are the most common diseases. Therefore, the main site of disease atherosclerosis is blood vessels, so we can see that its flow rate has obvious changes. Through the analysis of coronary heart disease, this paper studies the relationship between coronary artery disease and cardiovascular disease, which is helpful to evaluate the risk of disease, and also provides the best prevention and treatment plan to overcome cardiovascular disease. ⋯ The highest percentage in the lateral wall was 69.2%, and the lowest in the septum and apex was 19.7%. Nanocomposite hydrogel stent implantation can effectively treat coronary heart disease. The research shows that it is safe and effective in application.

Effects of being eligible for specific health guidance on health outcomes: A regression discontinuity analysis using Japan's data on specific health checkups.
The significance of general health checkups and guidance is controversial. To examine the effectiveness of Japan's specific health checkup (SHC) and specific health guidance (SHG) programs, this study applied a regression discontinuity design (RDD) using the SHC results database collected by a private company. We applied a sharp RDD with a cutoff body mass index (BMI) of 25 kg/m2 for those with a waist circumference (WCF) of <85 cm in men and < 90 cm in women, with risks of hypertension, dyslipidemia or diabetes, and aged between 40 and 64 years. ⋯ A total of 1,041,607 observations out of 614,253 people were analyzed. We found robust significant results that those eligible for SHG in the baseline year had a lower BMI (both men and women) and lower WCF (men only) in the following year than those not eligible for SHG: BMI for men (-0.12 kg/m2, 95% CI [confidence interval]: -0.15 to -0.09); BMI for women (-0.09 kg/m2, 95% CI: -0.13 to -0.06); and WCF for men (-0.36 cm, 95% CI: -0.47 to -0.28) in the pooled data. Robust significant results were not found in WCF for women or in major cardiovascular risk factors.

Mortality trends and disease burdens of cervical, endometrial and ovarian cancers from 1981 to 2020 in Taiwan.
Cervical, endometrial, and ovarian cancers are major gynecologic cancers in Taiwan. Although cervical cancer has received attention through nationwide screening program and the rollout of the human papillomavirus vaccine, endometrial and ovarian cancers have attracted less attention. The age-period-cohort analysis of constant-relative-variation method was used to estimate the mortality trends of cervical, endometrial, and ovarian cancers for population aged 30-84 years during 1981-2020 in Taiwan. ⋯ For both endometrial and ovarian cancers, the Spearman's correlation coefficients revealed the strong negative correlations between the fertility and the cohort effects, and the strong positive correlations between the average age at first childbirth and the cohort effects. The burden of premature death from ovarian cancer was higher than those of cervical and endometrial cancers during 2016-2020. Due to increasing cohort effect and burden of premature death, endometrial and ovarian cancers will become the largest threat to women's reproductive health in Taiwan.

PRMT5 up-regulation improves myocardial hypertrophy by mediating E2F-1/NF-κB/NLRP3 pathway.
Various protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs) have been demonstrated to be aberrantly expressed in cardiovascular disease. This study aimed to investigate the role of PRMT5 in myocardial hypertrophy. Levels of fibrosis markers, NLRP3-ASC-Caspase1, inflammatory factors, myocardial hypertrophy markers and oxidative stress markers were determined in cardiomyocytes. ⋯ PRMT5 overexpression restrained E2F-1 expression and impaired NF-κB phosphorylation and NLRP3-ASC-Caspase1 inflammasome activation. Mechanistically, PRMT5 knockdown contributed to E2F-1 expression, but E2F-1 knockdown or NF-κB inhibition reversed PRMT5 knockdown-mediated myocardial hypertrophy. PRMT5 attenuated NLRP3 inflammasome activation and ameliorates angiotensin II-induced myocardial hypertrophy by regulating the E2F-1/NF-κB pathway.

ReviewThe impacts of COVID-19 on immigrants and the healthy immigrant effect: Reflections from Canada.
Discussions about potential long-term health consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on immigrant health and the healthy immigrant effect (HIE) remain unaddressed. Drawing on Canada as a case study, we summarize the primary and secondary impacts of COVID-19 on immigrants. We find that recent and female immigrants as well refugees have fared far worse than either their more established and male counterparts or the Canadian-born population. ⋯ We highlight two structural conditions induced by the pandemic that may alter the health profile of immigrants; namely, immigration policy and delayed medical treatments. Reflections on the requisite data for monitoring and tracking the overall impact of COVID-19 on immigrants' health are included. Finally, we conclude with a discussion of the Canadian patterns and its potential relevance to immigrants and the HIE in the United States.
