Review Meta AnalysisDaily steps and all-cause mortality: An umbrella review and meta-analysis.
This study aimed to describe the variability in estimates of the association of daily steps and all-cause mortality in systematic reviews with meta-analyses, to identify the factors potentially responsible for it, and to provide an updated estimate. ⋯ Systematic reviews and meta-analyses showed considerable variability in effect estimates due to different methods of quantifying exposure. Despite it, our study underscores the importance of increased daily steps in reducing all-cause mortality, with a minimum protective dose of 3000 steps/day, although the optimal dose differed according to age and sex. It is recommended that future studies categorise daily steps by physical activity category, perform dose-response analyses, and use increments of 1000 steps/day.

Review Meta AnalysisHow may we effectively motivate people to reduce the consumption of meat? Results of a meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials.
Excessive meat consumption (MC) is associated with multiple health risks. Additionally, it can undermine environmental sustainability and affect the potential improvement of animal welfare. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of literacy interventions (LIs) in reducing MC. ⋯ Informing about health risks related to MC temporarily decreased its intake, while informing about the impact on environmental sustainability or animal welfare was ineffective. Furthermore, long-lasting LIs achieve long-term dietary change toward MC.

Review Meta AnalysisBenefits and harms of structured outdoor physical activity for people with somatic or mental diseases: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To examine the benefits and harms of structured outdoor physical activity (PA) for people living with one or more somatic or mental diseases. ⋯ Structured outdoor PA may improve HRQOL and physical function, as well as mental health outcomes. The very low certainty of evidence calls for high quality RCTs to determine benefits and harms of structured outdoor PA.

Review Meta AnalysisThe optimal exercise intervention for sleep quality in adults: A systematic review and network meta-analysis.
The impact of various exercise modalities on the improvement of sleep quality in adults remains controversial. ⋯ The review was registered with PROSPERO, registration number CRD42023434565.

Review Meta AnalysisProspective associations between systolic blood pressure, serum cholesterol, and physical activity behaviour and the development of cardiovascular disease.
To systematically appraise and summarise meta-analyses of longitudinal studies to determine the effect size, and quality and certainty of the evidence summaries for systolic blood pressure (SBP), serum cholesterol, and physical activity behaviour in developing cardiovascular disease (CVD). ⋯ There were strong associations with CVD risk at the meta-analysis level for all three exposures, with a proportionally greater number of meta-analyses and primary studies for physical activity than SBP or serum cholesterol. Given the number of meta-analyses and similar CVD risk reductions and certainty of evidence associated with physical activity behaviour, there is a strong case for its routine assessment alongside SBP and serum cholesterol in primary CVD prevention.
