Review Meta AnalysisWhat rate of Iranian women perform Pap smear test? Results from a meta-analysis.
In this study, an attempt was made to estimate the aggregated proportion of Pap smear test uptake among women in Iran from 2012 to 2022 using meta-analysis. The data collection process involved reviewing records registered in databases between January 1, 2012, and September 11, 2022. The final data was analyzed using random effects models, and potential heterogeneity was assessed using the I2 index. ⋯ No significant evidence of publication bias was detected, although the influence of smaller studies was confirmed. Sensitivity analysis indicated that the overall rate of Pap smear test uptake was not highly sensitive to the results of individual studies. The findings emphasize the low rate of regular Pap smear testing among Iranian women and suggest that tailored interventions considering cultural and geographical factors specific to different provinces in Iran could help increase the utilization of this screening service.

Review Meta AnalysisEstablishing multifactorial risk factors for adult-onset hearing loss: A systematic review with topic modelling and synthesis of epidemiological evidence.
This systematic review explores the multifaceted nature of risk factors contributing to adult-onset HL. The objective was to synthesise the most recent epidemiological evidence to generate pooled proportional incidences for the identified risk factors. ⋯ The findings of this review, combined with the synthesis of epidemiological evidence, enhance our understanding of hearing loss (HL) pathogenesis and highlight potential areas for intervention, thereby paving the way for more effective prevention and management of adult-onset hearing loss in our ageing global population.

Review Meta AnalysisAssociation between multimorbidity of pregnancy and adverse birth outcomes: A systemic review and meta-analysis.
Multimorbidity (≥2 co-existing conditions) in pregnancy is a significant public health issue with a rising prevalence worldwide. However, the association between pregnancy multimorbidity and adverse birth outcomes is unclear. So, this review assessed the association between pregnancy-multimorbidity and adverse birth outcomes (preterm birth, abnormal birth weight, neonatal mortality, and stillbirth). ⋯ Pregnancy multimorbidity was associated with preterm birth 4.28(2.23-6.34), large gestational age (>90 percentile) 3.33(1.50-5.17), macrosomia (≥4000 g) 2.16(0.34-3.98), and small gestational age (<10th percentile) 3.52(1.54-5.51). There is substantial variance in the odds of pregnancy multimorbidity by type of comorbidity and type of adverse birth outcome, attributed to differences in the healthcare system by geographical location. Therefore, prioritizing pregnant women with multimorbidity is crucial for effective and integrative interventions.

Review Meta AnalysisAssociation of sleep traits with myopia in children and adolescents: A meta-analysis and Mendelian randomization study.
The association between sleep and myopia in children and adolescents has been reported, yet it remains controversial and inconclusive. This study aimed to investigate the influence of different sleep traits on the risk of myopia using meta-analytical and Mendelian randomization (MR) techniques. ⋯ No evidence was found to support a causal relationship between sleep traits and myopia. While sleep may not independently predict the risk of myopia, the potential impact of sleep on the occurrence and development of myopia cannot be disregarded.

Review Meta AnalysisThe effects of physical activity on pediatric eyes: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Examining the retina represents a non-invasive method to evaluate abnormalities pertaining to the nervous and cardiovascular systems. Evidence indicates that physical activity is a non-pharmacological intervention to enhance the nervous and cardiovascular systems. However, little is unknown about its effects on ocular characteristics in children and adolescents. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of physical activity interventions on ocular characteristics in children and adolescents. ⋯ Participating in chronic physical activity programs appear to impact children and adolescents' eye-related attributes positively.
