Is cerebral glucose metabolism affected by chemotherapy in patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma?
The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of chemotherapy treatment with ABVD on brain glucose metabolism in patients with Hodgkin's disease (HD). ⋯ Our results support the conclusion of a very limited impact of ABVD chemotherapy on brain metabolism in patients with HD.

The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic and prognostic values of (99m)Tc-MDP-planar bone scintigraphy ((99m)Tc-MDP-BS), (131)I single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography ((131)I-SPECT/CT) and (18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose ((18)F-FDG)-PET/CT for the detection of bone metastases from differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC). ⋯ (131)I-SPECT/CT and (18)F-FDG-PET/CT demonstrated high diagnostic performance in detecting bone metastases from DTC. (99m)Tc-MDP-BS might be completely replaced by (131)I-SPECT/CT in combination with ((131)F-FDG-PET/CT in the management of DTC patients with bone metastases. (18)F-FDG-PET/CT positivity was an independent factor associated with poor prognosis.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlative role of fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) measurement and contrast-enhanced abdominal computed tomography (ceCT) in the detection of colorectal cancer (CRC) recurrence. ⋯ 18F-FDG PET/CT has an additional role in the detection of CRC recurrence with a higher sensitivity compared with CEA and ceCT alone, and 18F-FDG PET/CT is especially more successful in patients with isolated elevated CEA levels or positive ceCT findings without accompanying CEA elevation.

To evaluate the utility of fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) PET-CT in the diagnosis of recurrent gastric adenocarcinoma in a Non-Oriental Asian population. ⋯ 18F-FDG PET-CT is highly sensitive and specific for detecting recurrence in patients with gastric adenocarcinoma. It shows high accuracy both on a per-patient and per-lesion basis.

To investigate whether in lower extremity lymphoedema, lymph proteins enter blood before they do the thoracic duct. ⋯ In lymphoedema, more lymph proteins enter blood proximal to the thoracic duct. The time courses of nodal and hepatic activities suggest that access may occur within nodes themselves.
