Clinical trials comparing the efficacy of different interventions for endometriosis are limited and controversial. The aim of the present study is to perform a network meta-analysis on the efficacy of various interventions for endometriosis. ⋯ Limited available evidence showed that EM, PR, and GN were significantly effective to reduce pain when compared with the placebo. Due to a lack of convincing evidence favoring surgery or medication, we recommend considering EM.

Comparative Efficacy and Safety of Anti-Platelet Agents in Cerebral Ischemic Disease: A Network Meta-Analysis.
We performed a network meta-analysis (NMA) to enhance the corresponding evidence of the relative efficacy and safety of different antiplatelet agents in cerebral ischemic disease. PubMed and EMBASE were searched systematically for relevant studies. Outcomes were compared using odds ratios and 95% credible intervals. ⋯ However, the performance of ASA+Clop declined significantly when considering safety (including myocardial infarction, all-cause withdrawal, and intracranial hemorrhage), especially worse in intracranial hemorrhage. In conclusion, Clop was potentially the most preferable treatment for preventing cerebral ischemic in terms of efficacy and safety. However, the addition of ASA was associated with a potential increase in intracranial hemorrhage, therefore, combination therapy of ASA and Clop should be introduced with caution although it may be more effective than the monotherapy of ASA.

The diagnostic accuracy of procalcitonin and C-reactive protein for sepsis: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
The objective of this study was to systematically evaluate the clinical value of procalcitonin and C-reactive protein in the diagnosis of adult patients with sepsis. ⋯ In this meta-analysis, our results together indicate a moderate degree of value of PCT and CRP for the diagnosis of sepsis in adult patients. The diagnosis accuracy and specificity of PCT are higher than those of CRP.

This network meta-analysis was conducted to compare effects of different placebo-controlled insulin-sensitizing drugs, including metformin, pioglitazone, rosiglitazone, and troglitazone on hormonal parameters in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) patients. We searched PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library databases from their inception to July 2017. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) met our inclusion criteria were included. ⋯ However, there were no statistical significance among the placebo-controlled insulin-sensitizing drugs in follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) (IU/L), luteinizing hormone (LH) (IU/L), dehydroepiandrostrone-sulphate (DHEAS) (µg/dL), free testosterone (FT) (pg/mL) and androstenedione (ng/mL). The results of cluster analysis showed that rosiglitazone may be the best drug for PCOS patients regarding to DHEAS, TT, FSH, and LH, metformin may be the best drug for PCOS patients as for E2 , FT, and androstenedione. Rosiglitazone had the best effect on PCOS patients in terms of DHEAS, TT, FSH, and LH, metformin had the best effect on PCOS patients for E2 , FT, and androstenedione.

The Role of Serum High Mobility Group Box 1 and Interleukin-6 Levels in Acute Pancreatitis: A Meta-Analysis.
The purpose of this meta-analysis was to comprehensively investigate the correlation between high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in relation to acute pancreatitis. A highly regulated exploration of various electronic databases, supplemented by manual searching methods, was performed in an attempt to identify pertinent articles of a useful nature. Subsequently, high-quality cohort studies that were deemed to comply with the arduous inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected for our meta-analysis. ⋯ J. Cell.
