Mastocytosis are characterized by an accumulation of abnormal mast cells in various tissues. Their incidence is estimated at 1/150,000 patients. Pure cutaneous mastocytosis which are mainly observed during childhood may resolve spontaneously during adolescence, whereas systemic mastocytosis involving one or more organs or tissues are more observed in adults. ⋯ The cardiovascular symptoms do not correlate to the cutaneous versus systemic description of the disease. The drug of choice for the treatment of the severe cardiovascular signs is epinephrine associated to vascular loading. The aim of this literature review is to suggest the different modalities of perioperative care of patients with mastocytosis.

[Pain and postoperative behavioural changes following adenoidectomy and ear tube placement in children].
The purpose of this study was to evaluate postoperative pain in the hospital and at home as well as behavioural changes at home following outpatient adenoidectomy (VG) and ear tube (ATT) surgery. ⋯ The relatively high frequency of postoperative behaviour changes in this population demonstrates the need to systematically evaluate those changes in order to improve overall paediatric care.

Case Reports[Labour epidural analgesia for a woman with a factor XI deficiency: an illconsidered risk?].
Inherited bleeding disorders contraindicate epidural analgesia because of the risk of epidural haematoma. However, there is no consensus about a minimal rate of factor XI required for its performance. ⋯ Indeed, the factor XI deficiency results in a haemorrhagic risk which is variable and not easily foreseeable. Nevertheless, no neurological after-effect or excessive bleeding occurred although no specific prophylaxis had been performed.
