Case Reports[Pericardial puncture after central venous catheterism in infant. Systematic opacification and chest radiography to avoid serious complication].
Development of ultrasound in the operating room has improved the safety of patients requiring the placement of a central venous line in children. However, the risk of venous or myocardial perforation related to the use of guidewires or inappropriate dilators persists despite the use of ultrasound. ⋯ Immediate diagnosis and rapid treatment led to a favorable outcome. We believe chest radiography and systematic opacification are mandatory before fluid administration through the catheter, in order to reduce residual risk of serious complication.

[Risk of accumulation of CO₂ in the oxygen chamber in "HOOD" (Experimental study on test bed)].
Oxygen hood is largely used to deliver O₂ to newborn infants with respiratory failure in the northern region of France. The oxygen flow is set to obtain the target arterial blood oxygen saturation. Thus, O₂ flow delivers into the hood may be below the recommended gas flow of 6L/min. However, gas flow below 6L/min exposes to CO₂ rebreathing. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of various rates of gas flows on the values of partial pressure of CO₂ into the hood. ⋯ Risk of CO₂ rebreathing exists as soon as the gas is delivered into the hood at minimal flow rates below 6L/min.

[Post-traumatic dysautonomic crises in intensive care unit: a French national assessment].
The dysautonomic crises (DC) after traumatic brain injury are an unknown syndrome whereas the first case was described more than 50 years ago. This work aimed to collect their support modalities in French neuro-intensive cares units. ⋯ Although DC were a common complication in neuro-intensive care unit, their support seems mainly empirical.
