Observational Study
Association between ASL MRI-derived cerebral blood flow and outcomes after pediatric cardiac arrest.
Cerebral blood flow (CBF) is dysregulated after cardiac arrest. It is unknown if post-arrest CBF is associated with outcome. We aimed to determine the association of CBF derived from arterial spin labelling (ASL) MRI with outcome after pediatric cardiac arrest. ⋯ CBF measured 3-5 days after pediatric cardiac arrest by ASL MRI was independently associated with unfavorable outcome.

Delays in bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) are associated with worse out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) outcomes. Whether disparities exist in time to CPR between women and men is unknown. ⋯ For patients with witnessed OHCA that received bystander CPR, women and men had similar times to CPR, although 5-minute or greater delays in initiating CPR was not uncommon. Delays in bystander CPR in OHCA were associated with worse survival outcomes.
