Following initial resuscitation from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, rearrest frequently occurs and has been associated with adverse outcomes. We aimed to identify clinical, treatment, and demographic characteristics associated with prehospital rearrest at the encounter and agency levels. ⋯ This multiagency retrospective study found that factors associated with increased ischaemic burden following OHCA were associated with rearrest. Agency-level rearrest frequency was inversely associated with agency-level survival to home. Interventions that decrease the burden of ischemia sustained by OHCA patients may decrease the rate of rearrest and increase survival.
