The objective of this study was to provide anatomical data on modified contralateral C7 (cC7) nerve root transfers by dissecting and measuring the separable lengths of the C7 root, trunk, and divisions. ⋯ The C7 division lengths can be prolonged by dissecting the epineuria at the division-cord junction of the C7 nerve root.

Use of Flow-Through Anterolateral Thigh Perforator Flaps in Reconstruction of Complex Extremity Defects.
The flow-through flap has been widely utilized for reconstruction of complex defects of the extremities as it can be used for arterial reconstruction and soft-tissue coverage simultaneously. This study describes our clinical experience with the application of the flow-through anterolateral thigh perforator (ALTP) flap for reconstruction of complex defects of the extremities. ⋯ Our experience showed that the flow-through ALTP flap is reliable and suitable for reconstruction of complex defects of the extremities, as well as for various other clinical purposes.

Reverse Dorsoradial Flaps for Thumb Coverage Show Increased Sensory Recovery with Smaller Flap Sizes.
Reverse homodigital dorsoradial (RHD) flap has been developed to repair soft-tissue defects of the thumb. However, few articles have reported this flap with long-term follow-up. This retrospective study was designed to evaluate the RHD flap and investigate factors affecting sensory recovery. ⋯ RHD flap without neurorrhaphy is a recommendable technique for relatively small-sized thumb-defect reconstruction, which can achieve a satisfactory sensory recovery.

Case ReportsReconstruction of Extensive Soft-Tissue Defects with Concomitant Bone Defects in the Lower Extremity with the Latissimus Dorsi-Serratus Anterior-Rib Free Flap.
The combined latissimus dorsi-serratus anterior-rib (LD-SA-rib) free flap provides a large soft-tissue flap with a vascularized bone flap through a solitary vascular pedicle in a one-stage reconstruction. ⋯ The LD-SA-rib flap provides a large soft-tissue component and a vascularized bone flap for reconstruction of composite large soft-tissue defects with concomitant bone defects of the lower extremity in a one-stage procedure.
