The spectrum of traumatic injuries of the eye is broad and often very complex (e.g. burns, hematoma, hemorrhage, retinal detachment, tears, rupture etc.). For colleagues specializing in other disciplines the initial evaluation of an ophthalmic injury can be difficult but in most instances the anamnesis of the events can give indications of the possible injury type. ⋯ Further planning of the interdisciplinary treatment is guided by the results of the initial examination. In particular for chemical burns it is of utmost importance to undertake the most intensive and lengthy rinsing of the eye possible in order to avoid further irreversible damage.

Case Reports
[Post-traumatic bipolar dislocation of the clavicle: is operative treatment reasonable?].
Bipolar dislocation of the clavicle ("floating clavicle") is extremely rare. It exists no standardised treatment for this trauma and the treatment is often conservative. This is mainly an anterior displacement of the sternoclavicular joint (type III according to Allman) and a posterior dislocation of the acromioclavicular joint (type IV according to Rockwood). ⋯ Venous congestion was not more observable. In most of the cases dislocations of both ends of the clavicle are treated conservatively. We recommend an operative treatment especially in young and active patients to avoid re-dislocation and to archive better cosmetic results.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study Retracted Publication
[Biodegradable screw versus a press-fit bone plug fixation for ACL reconstruction: a prospective randomized study].
Press-fit fixation of a tendon graft has been advocated in order to achieve tendon to bone healing. ⋯ Both interference screw and a press-fit fixation lead to a high number of good or very good outcomes after ACL reconstruction. Tibial press-fit fixation decreases the amount of proximal bone tunnel enlargement. Press-fit fixation decreases the amount of proximal bone tunnel enlargement and improves bone to tendon contact.

The goal of this consecutive, retrospective clinical follow-up study was to analyse the quality of treatment with a multidimensional, anatomical locking plate osteosynthesis after comminuted clavicle shaft fracture (Robinson 2B). ⋯ The treatment of comminuted shaft fractures of the clavicle by means of a multidimensional locking plate is a safe treatment option that includes early functional postoperative care with free range of motion.
