This study compared persistent breast pain among women who received breast-conserving surgery for breast cancer and women without a history of breast cancer. ⋯ Results indicate that persistent breast pain negatively impacts women with a history of breast-conserving cancer surgery compared with women without that history. Strategies to ameliorate persistent breast pain and to improve adjustment among women with persistent breast pain should be explored for incorporation into standard care for breast cancer survivors.

Pediatric Immunization Distress: A Cluster Analyses of Children's, Parents' and Nurses' Behaviors During the Anticipatory Phase.
Using cluster analysis, we aimed to identify a typology of nurses', parents', and young children's behaviors during the anticipatory phase of pediatric immunizations to explore the associations between these different typologies and to determine whether these groups differed with respect to the child's procedural distress as rated by the child and the parents and with respect to the adults' self-rated distress. ⋯ The results confirm previous dimensional studies and add relevant knowledge concerning typologies of participant behaviors that may be useful in understanding such behaviors and in helping providers in their management of child immunizations.

Pregabalin Improves Fibromyalgia-Related Sleep Disturbance.
To investigate the effect of pregabalin on wake and sleep bout parameters. ⋯ Pregabalin improved sleep parameters characteristic of disturbed sleep in FM, by preventing awakenings and increasing sleep bout duration. These effects are reflected in, and correlated with, a decrease in "light sleep" (stage 1) and an increase in "deep sleep" (slow wave sleep).

Pregabalin in Subjects With Painful Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy Using an NSAID for Other Pain Conditions: A Double-Blind Crossover Study.
To evaluate pregabalin's efficacy and safety versus placebo to reduce pain in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) using a concomitant nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. ⋯ Pregabalin (vs. placebo) showed overall improvements in sleep, pain reduction in 1 sensitivity analysis, and was well tolerated. Potential factors that may have confounded the ability to detect a treatment difference in DPN pain reduction (high placebo response, carryover effect, short washout period, or pregabalin dose) are discussed in the context of future studies.
