Review Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Comparison of oropharyngeal leak pressure and clinical performance of LMA ProSeal™ and i-gel® in adults: Meta-analysis and systematic review.
A meta-analysis and systematic review of randomized controlled trials to compare the oropharyngeal leak pressure (OLP) and clinical performance of LMA ProSeal™ (Teleflex® Inc., Wayne, PA, USA) and i-gel® (Intersurgical Ltd, Wokingham, UK) in adults undergoing general anesthesia. ⋯ LMA ProSeal™ provides superior airway sealing compared to i-gel®.

This analysis critically compares publications discussing complications and functional outcomes of plate fixation (PF) versus intramedullary fixation (IF) for midshaft clavicle fractures. ⋯ Findings of this meta-analysis suggest that, in many respects, IF was superior to PF for the management of midshaft clavicle fractures. This finding could aid surgeons in making decisions on the optimum internal fixation pattern for midshaft clavicular fractures.

Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Comparison of early recovery and cognitive function after desflurane and sevoflurane anaesthesia in elderly patients: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
A meta-analysis to compare postoperative cognitive function and the time to specific recovery events in elderly patients (aged >65 years) anaesthetized with sevoflurane or desflurane. ⋯ Desflurane is associated with a faster recovery from general anaesthesia than sevoflurane in elderly patients.

The role of the induction of mild hypothermia in adult patient outcomes after cardiac arrest: Systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled studies.
To determine whether patients with return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) following cardiac arrest who received mild hypothermia have improved mortality and neurological outcomes compared with those who do not receive mild hypothermia. ⋯ On the basis of this limited data set, mild hypothermia does not improve mortality rates or neurological outcomes in patients with ROSC after cardiac arrest, regardless of the timing of the hypothermia. Larger trials need to be carried out to confirm these findings.

A meta-analysis was conducted to examine the effect of mud therapy on pain relief in patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA). ⋯ Mud therapy is a favourable option for pain relief in patients with knee OA. Additional high-quality randomized controlled trials need to be conducted to explore this issue further and to confirm this conclusion.
