To evaluate the prevalence of comorbidities that may limit or prevent adherence to topical ocular hypotensive therapy in patients with open-angle glaucoma (OAG). ⋯ The presence of comorbidities should be considered when determining whether eye drops are suitable treatment for glaucoma. Neurodegenerative disease affecting cognition and memory, motor disease, and low vision are common comorbidities that may impact adherence to eye drops, and affected patients may benefit from non-drop treatment modalities.

Different stakeholders, such as authors, research institutions, and healthcare professionals (HCPs) may determine the impact of peer-reviewed publications in different ways. Commonly-used measures of research impact, such as the Journal Impact Factor or the H-index, are not designed to evaluate the impact of individual articles. They are heavily dependent on citations, and therefore only measure impact of the overall journal or researcher respectively, taking months or years to accrue. ⋯ We also discuss how metrics may be used to evaluate the value of "publication extenders" - educational microcontent such as animations, videos and plain-language summaries that are often hosted on HCP education platforms. Publication extenders adapt a publication's key data to audience needs and thereby extend a publication's reach. These new approaches have the potential to address the limitations of traditional metrics, but the diversity of new metrics requires that users have a keen understanding of which forms of impact are relevant to a specific publication and select and monitor ALMs accordingly.

Cloninger's psychobiosocial model of personality proposes that consistent patterns of health behavior are determined by the complex interaction of different neurobiological processes of the patient's temperament and character dimensions. Poor medication adherence is a pervasive problem among glaucoma patients and can lead to increased morbidity and disability. The objective of the present study was to investigate the association between Cloninger's personality dimensions and medication adherence among glaucoma patients. ⋯ The results suggest that POAG patients with higher scores on the Self-Transcendent personality dimension are more likely to experience difficulties adhering to medication regimen. The study highlights the importance of a holistic approach to glaucoma treatment, which takes into account not only the biological aspects of disease but also the psychosocial factors that influence patient behavior. Healthcare providers may need to consider glaucoma patients' personality dimensions, beliefs and values when developing treatment plans and strategies to improve medication adherence.

Pressure-Enabled Drug Delivery (PEDD), a method using pressure to advance catheter-delivered drug distribution, can improve treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and liver metastases, but real-world evidence is limited. We compared baseline patient characteristics, clinical complexity, and post-procedure healthcare resource utilization (HRUs) and clinical complications for PEDD and non-PEDD procedures. ⋯ Despite higher baseline disease burden and complexity, post-procedure HRU and clinical complications for PEDD patients were similar to non-PEDD patients. The complex baseline clinical profile may reflect selection of challenging cases for PEDD use. Future studies should validate the benefits observed with PEDD embolization in larger samples with greater statistical power.

To evaluate the efficacy endpoints of HbA1c and body weight loss after switching from the GLP-1 receptor agonists, semaglutide or dulaglutide, to treatment with the GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist (RA) tirzepatide. ⋯ In this model-based simulation, switching from approved maintenance doses of semaglutide or dulaglutide to tirzepatide, even at the lowest approved maintenance dose of 5 mg, showed the potential to further improve HbA1c and body weight reductions.
