ReviewIncubation period of COVID-19: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
The incubation period of COVID-19 helps to determine the optimal duration of the quarantine and inform predictive models of incidence curves. Several emerging studies have produced varying results; this systematic review aims to provide a more accurate estimate of the incubation period of COVID-19. ⋯ Based on the published data reporting the incubation period of COVID-19, the mean time between exposure and onset of clinical symptoms depended on the statistical model used, and the 95th percentile depended on the mean age of the patients. It is advisable to record sex and age when collecting data in order to analyze possible differential patterns.

Does the maternal-fetal transmission of SARS-CoV-2 occur during pregnancy?
On January 7th, 2020, a new coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, was identified, as responsible for a new human disease: COVID-19. Given its recent appearance, our current knowledge about the possible influence that this disease can exert on pregnancy is very limited. One of the unknowns to be solved is whether there is a vertical transmission of the infection during pregnancy. ⋯ It is necessary to expand the investigation of COVID-19 cases diagnosed during pregnancy to clarify the real influence that SARS-CoV-2 has on pregnant women and their offspring, as well as those factors that modulate the disease.

Wide systematic variations in potentially avoidable hospitalisations of chronically ill patients: Ecological study of basic health areas and healthcare areas.
Potentially avoidable hospitalisations (PAHs) due to chronic conditions are a healthcare problem that could reflect healthcare of insufficient quality. This study reports the systematic variations in PAHs for the collection of providers of the Spanish National Health System. ⋯ The wide systematic variation in PAHs suggests a problem of quality in the care provided to chronically ill patients by the providers of healthcare areas in Spain. Identifying and analysing these areas and other healthcare areas with better results could provide a reference for improving the care of other suppliers with poorer performance.

ReviewOsteoporotic vertebral fractures: A diagnostic challenge in the 21ST century.
Vertebral fractures are the most prevalent osteoporotic fractures and are paradoxically the most underdiagnosed. While only one-third of patients have acute pain, they can present other associated chronic complications. ⋯ New techniques, such as vertebral morphometry, have recently demonstrated greater efficacy in detecting v vertebral fractures and are performed concomitantly with bone densitometry. Knowing how to identify vertebral fractures is essential for the secondary prevention of new fractures and improving our patients' quality of life.
