Review Meta AnalysisSex differences in illness severity and mortality among adult intensive care patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To investigate the association between sex and illness severity and mortality of ICU patients. ⋯ Women tend to have higher illness severity scores at ICU admission. Women also appear to have higher risk-adjusted mortality than men at ICU discharge and at 1 year. Given the heterogeneity and risk of bias in the existing literature, additional studies are needed to confirm or refute these findings.

ReviewVasopressor and inotrope treatment for septic shock: An umbrella review of reviews.
To review the characteristics, findings and quality of systematic reviews (SRs) on the effect of any vasopressor/inotrope on outcomes in adult patients with sepsis compared with either no treatment, another vasopressor or inotrope or fluids. ⋯ The quality of SRs on the effect of vasopressors/inotropes on the outcomes of adult patients with sepsis can be improved, but high-quality, multicenter, RCTs should be preferred to additional SRs on this topic.

Transferring home to die from critical care units: A scoping review of international practices.
To identify and characterise the international practices of transferring a dying patient home to die from critical care units. ⋯ Transferring patients home to die from critical care is a complex practice varying significantly across countries. Further research to address current knowledge gaps is important to inform policy and practice.
