Review Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Comparing perioperative outcomes between regional anesthesia and general anesthesia in patients undergoing hip fracture surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Nearly all patients with hip fractures undergo surgical treatment. The use of different anesthesia techniques during surgery may influence the clinical outcomes. The optimal anesthetic technique for patients undergoing hip fracture surgery is still controversial. We performed this updated systematic review and meta-analysis to compare clinical outcomes of patients undergoing hip fracture surgery with different anesthesia techniques. ⋯ PROSPERO (CRD42023411854); registered 7 April 2023.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane block for postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass surgery: a double-blinded randomized controlled trial.
Minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass (MIDCAB) surgery is associated with significant postoperative pain. We aimed to investigate the efficacy of ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane block (ESPB) for analgesia after MIDCAB. ⋯ Erector spinae plane block provided early effective postoperative analgesia and reduced opioid consumption, time to extubation, and ICU discharge in patients undergoing MIDCAB.

Remimazolam is a novel ultrashort-acting sedative considered appropriate for continuous infusion during surgical procedures. Nevertheless, information regarding its loading dose for sedation during surgery is limited. We aimed to determine the 90% effective dose (ED90) of the remimazolam loading dose for sedation in patients undergoing limb surgery under regional anesthesia. ⋯ ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT05340335); first posted 22 April 2022.
