Proarrhythmogenic Effect of the L532P and N588K KCNH2 Mutations in the Human Heart Using a 3D Electrophysiological Model.
Atrial arrhythmia is a cardiac disorder caused by abnormal electrical signaling and transmission, which can result in atrial fibrillation and eventual death. Genetic defects in ion channels can cause myocardial repolarization disorders. Arrhythmia-associated gene mutations, including KCNH2 gene mutations, which are one of the most common genetic disorders, have been reported. This mutation causes abnormal QT intervals by a gain of function in the rapid delayed rectifier potassium channel (IKr). In this study, we demonstrated that mutations in the KCNH2 gene cause atrial arrhythmia. ⋯ The present study confirmed that the KCNH2 gene mutation increases the vulnerability of the atrial tissue for arrhythmia.

Similar Durability of Two Single Tablet Regimens, Dolutegravir/Abacavir/Lamivudine and Elvitegravir/Cobicistat/Tenofovir/Emtricitabine: Single Center Experience.
Integrase inhibitor is uniquely available as single tablet regimen (STR) in Korea. In this study, the durability until 96 weeks was compared between dolutegravir/abacavir/lamivudine (D/A/L) and elvitegravir/cobicistat/tenofovir/emtricitabine (E/T/E) in treatment naïve human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1) infected individuals. From 2014 to 2017, 153 and 234 subjects started D/A/L and E/T/E, respectively. ⋯ The frequency of drug adverse event related discontinuation (AEDC) was higher in D/A/L (13.1% vs. 6.4%, P = 0.023) while most non-AE related discontinuations occurred in E/T/E (8/9), such as drug-drug interaction, meal requirement and virologic failure. AEDC occurred usually within 24 weeks (20/35) and D/A/L to E/T/E AEDC incidence rate ratio was 3.71 (95% confidence interval, 1.36-10.10) in this period. Regarding the durability, D/A/L and E/T/E revealed no significant difference at week 96 (P = 0.138) while durability of D/A/L was worse in the aspect of AEDC (P = 0.013).

Efficacy of the 'Children in Disaster: Evaluation and Recovery (CIDER)' Protocol for Traumatized Adolescents in Korea.
We aimed to evaluate the feasibility of trauma-focused group therapy in adolescents exposed to traumatic events in Korea. ⋯ CIDER is a potentially effective intervention for adolescents exposed to traumatic events. Larger controlled trials are needed.

Psychological Impact of Quarantine on Caregivers at a Children's Hospital for Contact with Case of COVID-19.
Quarantine often provokes negative psychological consequences. Thus, we aimed to identify the psychological and behavioral responses and stressors of caregivers quarantined with young patients after a close contact to a coronavirus disease 2019 case at a children's hospital. More than 90% of the caregivers reported feelings of worry and nervousness, while some of them reported suicidal ideations (4.2%), and/or homicidal ideations (1.4%). ⋯ A multidisciplinary team including infection control team, pediatrician, psychiatrist, nursing staff and legal department provided supplies and services to reduce caregiver's psychological distress. Psychotropic medication was needed in five (6.9%), one of whom was admitted to the psychiatry department due to suicidality. Quarantine at a children's hospital makes notable psychological impacts on the caregivers and a multidisciplinary approach is required.
