The Risk of Tuberculosis in Patients With Inflammatory Bowel Disease Treated With Vedolizumab or Ustekinumab in Korea.
The present study investigated the risk of active tuberculosis in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) treated with vedolizumab or ustekinumab, in actual clinical settings in a country with an intermediate tuberculosis burden. The medical records of 238 patients with IBD who received vedolizumab or ustekinumab were retrospectively reviewed at a tertiary referral center in South Korea. ⋯ During the median 18.7 months of follow-up, active tuberculosis did not develop in any patient treated with vedolizumab or ustekinumab. Therefore, we concluded that the risk of tuberculosis appears to be low in patients with IBD treated with vedolizumab or ustekinumab in South Korea.

Evaluation of Current Resources Available for Community-Based Cardiac Rehabilitation in Korea: A Nationwide Survey Study.
In Korea, the actual distribution of cardiac rehabilitation (CR) to the clinical field is insufficient due to the many barriers for cardiovascular patients to participate in CR. Community-based CR is a useful alternative to overcome these obstacles. Through a nationwide survey, we investigated the possibility of regional medical and public health management institutes which can be in charge of community-based CR in Korea. ⋯ Most regional medical, and public health management institutions in Korea are unprepared for the implementation of community-based CR programs. To encourage the utilization of such, there should be efforts to establish a national consensus.

Serum 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D Levels and Association of Vitamin D Receptor Gene Polymorphisms in Vitiligo.
The role of vitamin D deficiency and vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene polymorphisms has been established in many autoimmune diseases, including vitiligo, but the result is still controversial. ⋯ Serum level of 25(OH)D in vitiligo patients was not significantly different from the mean serum value of the Korean population. Also, there were no significant differences in the genotypic distributions of VDR gene between vitiligo patients and healthy controls.

Trends of Internet Search Volumes for Major Depressive Disorder Symptoms During the COVID-19 Pandemic in Korea: An Interrupted Time-Series Analysis.
The effect of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on public mental health has been increasing. Additionally, the underlying psychological stressors remain unexplored, and few studies have been conducted nationally on the social distancing measures. Therefore, the present study aimed to identify the psychological impacts of the implementation of social distancing measures by analyzing the Internet search trends of major depressive disorder (MDD) symptoms. ⋯ Our results reported the negative effect of COVID-19 preventive measures on public mental health in South Korea, especially for MDD symptoms. Moreover, the findings suggested the utility of Naver Trends as a feasible big data source to assess future mental health crises.
