Diagnostic Value of Anti-Nuclear Antibodies: Results From Korean University-Affiliated Hospitals.
Unnecessary and inappropriate laboratory testing accounts for a significant portion of waste in health care utilization. The aim of this study was to examine the diagnostic value of the anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) test by examining the rate of ANA associated rheumatic disease (AARD) diagnosis among ANA tested and ANA positive subjects and positive predictive value (PPV) of ANA test leading to AARD diagnosis in different ANA titers and different subsets of patients in 5 hospitals affiliated with a university. ⋯ AARD was diagnosed in less than 1% of all ANA tested patients in university-affiliated hospitals. This result shows that careful consideration before ordering the screening ANA is needed to improve the utility of the test for providers and patients and to reduce health costs spurred by unnecessary testing and its consequences.

Predictive Factors for Rheumatoid Arthritis Flare After Switching From Intravenous to Subcutaneous Formulation of Tocilizumab in Real-World Practice.
To evaluate the incidence and related factors of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) flares after switching from intravenous tocilizumab (TCZ-IV) to subcutaneous tocilizumab (TCZ-SC) injection in stable RA patients. ⋯ MTX non-use and high dose of TCZ-IV per weight were associated with a risk of RA flare after switching to TCZ-SC. RA patients with these factors need to be carefully observed for flare after switching from TCZ-IV to TCZ-SC.

Incidence of Venous Thromboembolism: The 3rd Korean Nationwide Study.
The incidence of venous thromboembolism (VTE) has gradually increased in the Korean population. This study aimed to evaluate the annual age- and sex-adjusted incidence rates (ASR) of VTE and anticoagulation trends between 2014 and 2018. ⋯ In Korea, the ASRs of VTE continued to increase since 2014, but the rate of increase slowed in 2018. The VTE occurred more often in the elderly and in women. Five years after the introduction of DOACs in 2013, they accounted for 73% of all anticoagulants used to treat VTE.

Mediating Effects of Reassurance-Seeking Behavior or Obsession With COVID-19 on the Association Between Intolerance of Uncertainty and Viral Anxiety Among Healthcare Workers in Korea.
This study explores whether the intolerance of uncertainty among healthcare workers prompts viral anxiety, and whether this association is mediated by their reassurance-seeking behavior and preoccupation with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Korea. ⋯ The intolerance of uncertainty among healthcare workers directly influenced their viral anxiety, and reassurance-seeking behavior and obsession with COVID-19 mediated this association in this era of "living with coronavirus" in Korea.

Analysis of Retracted Publications in The Biomedical Literature from Turkey.
Retraction is a process for correcting the literature and provides a barrier to the dissemination of publications that include major faults or false-misleading data. The aim of this study was to examine the characteristics of retracted articles in the biomedical field sourced from Turkey. ⋯ The retracted article counts showed a rising trend over the years. The leading causes of retraction for articles from Turkey were plagiarism, duplication, and error. It was found that the articles continued to be cited after the retraction. Researchers in Turkey should be educated on retraction, particularly plagiarism and duplication. Strategies should be developed to prevent articles from being cited after retraction.
