A Web-Based Decision Aid for Informed Prostate Cancer Screening: Development and Pilot Evaluation.
Prostate-specific antigen-based routine screening is not recommended for the general population due to conflicting results with mortality reduction. We aimed to develop a web-based decision aid (DA) for informed decision making for prostate cancer screening. ⋯ Our web-based DA yielded increased knowledge, decreased screening intention, and high perceived usefulness. These findings indicate potential clinical relevance, especially among younger individuals.

The Health Status and Management of Migrant Workers in Cheonan: A Comparison Study With Korean Citizens.
Migrant workers face challenging working conditions, resulting in physical and mental vulnerability. The objective is to identify their health vulnerabilities and ensure their right to health. Health records of 163 migrant workers (113 males and 50 females) (Group A) and 163 Korean citizens (Group B) visiting our institution were analyzed from August 2021 to July 2022. ⋯ Group B generally exhibited higher levels of albumin, glucose, total cholesterol, and thyroid-stimulating hormone. There were significant quantitative differences in multiple blood cell and hemoglobin measurements between the two groups. These findings emphasize the need for policy support and public awareness to protect the health rights of migrant workers.

Impact of Positron Emission Tomography Viability Imaging: Guided Revascularizations on Clinical Outcomes in Patients With Myocardial Scar on Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography Scans.
Positron emission tomography (PET) viability scan is used to determine whether patients with a myocardial scar on single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) may need revascularization. However, the clinical utility of revascularization decision-making guided by PET viability imaging has not been proven yet. The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of PET to determine revascularization on clinical outcomes. ⋯ Revascularization improved left ventricular systolic function and survival of patients with a myocardial scar on SPECT scans, irrespective of myocardial viability on PET scans.

The Prognostic Impact of Coronary Artery Disease and Aortic Aneurysm: Insights From CT Protocol for Simultaneous Evaluation of Coronary Artery and Aorta.
There is a strong correlation between risk factors for coronary artery disease (CAD) and aortic aneurysm (AA). We aimed to investigate the prevalence and prognostic impact of CAD and AA in patients who underwent coronary aorta computed tomography (CACT) protocol, which allowed simultaneous evaluation of coronary artery and aorta. ⋯ In this cohort of patients undergoing simultaneous evaluation of coronary artery and aorta using CACT protocol, patients with AA had an increased risk of comorbid CAD compared to those without AA. CAD was independently associated with adverse clinical outcomes at 3 years.

Case ReportsCombined Malonic and Methylmalonic Aciduria Diagnosed by Recurrent and Severe Infections Mimicking a Primary Immunodeficiency Disease: A Case Report.
Combined malonic and methylmalonic aciduria is a rare genetic disorder caused by ACSF3 biallelic variants that results in impaired protein and fat metabolism and the accumulation of malonic and methylmalonic acids. A 52-day-old infant with a fever and a history of possible meningitis during the neonatal period was hospitalized. Multiple lesions of necrotizing lymphadenitis with abscesses in the left inguinal area were treated by incision and drainage along with appropriate antibiotic therapy, which revealed a methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection. ⋯ He had occasional colds, but severe bacterial infections were absent. The prognosis suggests a benign disease course. Here, we present the first reported case of ACSF3 compound heterozygote variants in Korea.
