Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyPeripheral nerve stimulation compared with usual care for pain relief of hemiplegic shoulder pain: a randomized controlled trial.
This study sought to establish the efficacy of single-lead, 3-wk peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) therapy for pain reduction in stroke survivors with chronic hemiplegic shoulder pain. ⋯ Short-term PNS is a safe and efficacious treatment of shoulder pain. Pain reduction is greater compared with usual care and is maintained for at least 12 wks after treatment.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyUltrasound-guided vs. blind steroid injections in carpal tunnel syndrome: A single-blind randomized prospective study.
The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy and the safety of ultrasound (US)-guided vs. blind steroid injections in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). ⋯ Although both US-guided and blind steroid injections were effective in reducing the symptoms of CTS and improving the function, an earlier onset/better improvement of symptom relief suggests that US-guided steroid injection may be more effective than are blind injections in CTS.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyComparison of ultrasound-guided intra-articular injections by long axis in plane approach on three different sites of the knee.
The objective of this study was to examine the accuracy of ultrasound-guided intra-articular (IA) injections on three different sites of the knee using midmedial, midlateral, and superolateral portals. ⋯ All three ultrasound-guided IA injections may be used to access the knee joint, with a high rate of accuracy.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyEffectiveness of device-assisted ultrasound-guided steroid injection for treating plantar fasciitis.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of device-assisted ultrasound-guided steroid injection for treating plantar fasciitis. ⋯ Device-assisted ultrasound-guided injection for treating plantar fasciitis results in better therapeutic outcomes than palpation-guided injection does.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyUltrasound-guided vs. fluoroscopy-guided caudal epidural steroid injection for the treatment of unilateral lower lumbar radicular pain: a prospective, randomized, single-blind clinical study.
The aim of this study was to compare the short-term effects and advantages of ultrasound-guided caudal epidural steroid injections with fluoroscopy-guided epidural steroid injections for unilateral radicular pain in the lower lumbar spine. ⋯ The ultrasound approach with color Doppler mode may avoid intravascular injection-induced complications. The results showed similar improvements in short-term pain relief, function, and patient satisfaction with both ultrasound and fluoroscopic guidance.
