Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyAddition of Suprascapular Nerve Block to a Physical Therapy Program Produces an Extra Benefit to Adhesive Capsulitis: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of suprascapular nerve block plus physical therapy (PT) with PT alone for the treatment of adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder. ⋯ The current study supports that suprascapular nerve block is a safe and well-tolerated method. PT was found to be effective in reducing pain severity and functional disability, and the addition of suprascapular nerve block to PT improved functional status and pain levels in patients with adhesive capsulitis.

Randomized Controlled TrialManual Therapy, Therapeutic Patient Education, and Therapeutic Exercise, an Effective Multimodal Treatment of Nonspecific Chronic Neck Pain: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a multimodal treatment in the short and medium term for disability in nonspecific chronic neck pain. ⋯ Differences between experimental groups and the control group were found in the short and medium term. A multimodal treatment is a good method for reducing disability in patients with nonspecific chronic neck pain in the short and medium term.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffect of exercise therapy compared with arthroscopic surgery on knee muscle strength and functional performance in middle-aged patients with degenerative meniscus tears: a 3-mo follow-up of a randomized controlled trial.
The aim of this study was to compare the effect of a 12-wk exercise therapy program and arthroscopic partial meniscectomy on knee strength and functional performance in middle-aged patients with degenerative meniscus tears. ⋯ A 12-wk supervised exercise therapy program yielded clinically relevant and statistically significant improvement in isokinetic quadriceps strength immediately after completion of the program, as compared with treatment with arthroscopic partial meniscectomy.

Randomized Controlled TrialAssociation between lymphedema self-care adherence and lymphedema outcomes among women with breast cancer-related lymphedema.
The aim of this study was to determine whether adherence to self-care modalities for breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL) predicts BCRL outcomes among 128 breast cancer survivors who participated in the 12-mo physical activity and lymphedema trial. ⋯ Our findings suggest that levels of BCRL self-care adherence do not predict BCRL outcomes among breast cancer survivors with stable lymphedema who were followed for 12 mos.

Randomized Controlled Trial Clinical TrialTranscranial direct current stimulation to primary motor area improves hand dexterity and selective attention in chronic stroke.
The aim of this study was to determine whether transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) applied to the primary motor hand area modulates hand dexterity and selective attention after stroke. ⋯ Twenty minutes of cathodal tDCS to M1nonlesioned can promote both paretic hand dexterity and selective attention in people with chronic stroke.
