Myeloid neoplasms post cytotoxic therapy (MN-pCT) are a category includes AML, MDS, and MDS/MPN arising in patients exposed to cytotoxic (DNA-damaging) therapy for an unrelated condition in 2022 version World Health Organization (WHO) classification. With improved survival of patients with tumors, the incidence of MN-pCT after chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy among patients with tumors has gradually risen. However, the outcome of MN-pCT is poorer than that of primary myeloid neoplasms. This review summarizes the current understanding based on existing research, as a foundation for further research on MN-pCT.

The ceRNA network, which is competitive endogenous RNA, uncovers a fresh mechanism of RNA interaction and holds significant importance in diverse biological processes. The aim of this study is to investigate the molecular process of induced membrane (IM) formation in bone defects using the Masquelet's induced membrane technique (MIMT), in order to offer novel insights and a theoretical foundation for enhancing the treatment of bone defects with MIMT. ⋯ In this study, we described the potential regulatory mechanism of the MIMT in treating bone defects. We proposed a new lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA ceRNA network that could help further explore the molecular mechanisms of bone repair.

Vaccines against diseases such as herpes zoster, pneumococcus and influenza are broadly recommended for older adults, but uptake is frequently low. ⋯ This review discusses results from attempts to expand and simplify the adult vaccination process, potentially allowing vaccination to be initiated by the recipient and completed in a single visit. These studies suggest that expanding adult vaccination access to new providers and/or new settings will require development of an integrated plan for preventive healthcare, covering areas such as setting target coverage rates, financial support, and development of immunization information systems accessible to all vaccination providers to maintain accurate immunization records and support interventions such as reminders.

Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is an important cause of low back pain. The aim of this study is to identify the potential molecular mechanism of abnormal methylation-modified DNA in the progression of IDD, hoping to contribute to the diagnosis and management of IDD. ⋯ The identification of abnormal methylation-modified DEmRNAs and the construction of classification models in this study were helpful for the diagnosis and management of IDD progression.

Understanding changes in vaccine hesitancy, overall and by sociodemographic characteristics, may highlight sub-populations for whom more intensive efforts are needed to increase vaccine uptake and confidence. ⋯ This study highlights concerning trends in vaccine hesitancy and uptake of the COVID-19 and other recommended vaccines. We found that some high-risk groups (e.g. smokers) and population subgroups have become more vaccine hesitant, suggesting the need for improved and intensified strategies to increase vaccine confidence and uptake. Future research may focus on qualitative inquiry to understand specific concerns and determinants contributing to increased hesitancy among these groups to help inform interventions and communication campaigns to support vaccination.
