To explore the complex mechanisms of keloid, new approaches have been developed by different strategies. However, conventional treatment did not significantly reduce the recurrence rate. This study aimed to identify new biomarkers and mechanisms for keloid progression through bioinformatics analyses. ⋯ We speculate that SPP1 is a potential candidate biomarker and therapeutic target for patients with keloid, and NEAT1/miR-181a-5p/SPP1 might be the RNA regulatory pathway that regulates keloid formation.

Within normal variation, higher haemoglobin (Hb) levels are associated with unhealthier body composition, adverse metabolism and cardiovascular disease (CVD)-related mortality. Global longitudinal strain (GLS) is a direct, well validated and reproducible echocardiographic measure for the evaluation of cardiac contractile function, providing additional prognostic value for prediction of a variety of cardiac events. This study investigated the relation between Hb levels and cardiac function measures, including GLS, in a Finnish midlife population. ⋯ Higher Hb levels are associated with an adverse metabolic and inflammatory profile and more adverse cardiac function measures, including GLS, in both sexes in midlife.

The association between excessive serum total bile acid (TBA) and adverse perinatal outcomes in individuals with non-intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (non-ICP) hypercholanemia has not been determined, and it is unclear if this link is similar to that observed in patients with ICP. ⋯ If a pregnant woman has moderate-to-severe liver disease and TBA ≥ 100µmol/L, preterm termination of pregnancy (before 34 weeks) may be considered.

Cancer is characterized by its ability to resist cell death, and emerging evidence suggests a potential correlation between non-apoptotic regulated cell death (RCD), tumor progression, and therapy response. However, the prognostic significance of non-apoptotic RCD-related genes (NRGs) and their relationships with immune response in gastric cancer (GC) remain unclear. ⋯ The NRG signature and its deep learning model have significant clinical implications, highlighting the importance of individualized treatment strategies based on GC subtyping. These findings provide valuable insights for guiding clinical decision-making and treatment approaches for GC.
