To probe the expression, clinical significance, roles, and molecular mechanisms of circRNA_000166 in breast cancer (BC). ⋯ CircRNA_000166 enhances BC progression through miR-326/ELK1 and miR-330-5p/ELK1 pathways and shows potential as a biomarker for BC diagnosis and treatment.

Prostate cancer (PCa) has become the highest incidence of malignant tumor among men in the world. Tumor microenvironment (TME) is necessary for tumor growth. M2 macrophages play an important role in many solid tumors. This research aimed at the role of M2 macrophages' prognosis value in PCa. ⋯ We uncovered that M2 macrophages and relevant genes played key roles in promoting the occurrence, development, and metastases of PCa and played as convincing predictors in PCa.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, threatening both physical and mental health. The epidemiological evidence for association between sleep duration, depression and breast cancer is inconsistent. The aim of this study was to determine the association between them and build machine-learning algorithms to predict breast cancer. ⋯ No significant association was observed between sleep duration and breast cancer, and participants with depression were associated with an increased risk for breast cancer. This finding provides new clues into the relationship between breast cancer and depression and sleep duration, and provides potential evidence for subsequent studies of pathological mechanisms.

Some patients with severe asthma may benefit from treatment with biologics, but evidence has been mostly collected from randomized controlled trials (RCTs), in which patients' characteristics are different from those encountered in asthma patients in the real-world setting. The aim of this study was to describe the clinical features of complete responders versus non-complete responders to long-term treatment with biologics in patients with severe asthma attended in routine daily practice. ⋯ This study shows that omalizumab, benralizumab, and mepolizumab improved the clinical outcomes of patients with severe asthma in a clinic environment with similar effect sizes to RCTs in the long term follow-up. Airflow obstruction, however, was a predictor of a non-complete response to biologics.

We hypothesized that patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) face a dilemma between motivation to live and difficulty in living, and brain-machine interfaces (BMIs) can reduce this dilemma. This study aimed to investigate the present situation of patients with ALS and their expectations from BMIs. ⋯ These results clearly revealed a serious dilemma among patients with ALS between motivation to live and their anxiety about TLS and caregiver burden. Patients expected BMI to reduce this dilemma. Thus, the development of better BMIs may meet these expectations.
