OHVIRA syndrome presenting with acute abdomen: a case report and review of the literature.
Uterus didelphys with obstructed hemivagina and ipsilateral renal agenesis (OHVIRA) or Herlyn-Werner-Wunderlich (HWW) syndrome is a rare congenital urogenital anomaly. A 13-year-old female presented with acute abdominal pain and dysmenorrhea. ⋯ Unilateral hysterectomy was performed. HWW syndrome may present with acute abdomen and is usually treated with vaginal septum resection and drainage of the hematometrocolpos.

Pineal gland involvement in Erdheim-Chester disease detected on (18)F-FDG PET-CT imaging: a case report and review of literature.
Erdheim-Chester disease (ECD) is a rare non-Langerhan's cell histiocytosis affecting multiple organ systems. The most common systemic manifestations are bone lesions, infiltration of the pituitary stalk sometimes leading to diabetes insipidus, pulmonary fibrosis, cardiac failure and exophthalmus. Neurological symptoms as the first clinical manifestations of ECD have been reported in less than one third of cases. We report a rare presentation of a patient of ECD on 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose ((18)F-FDG) positron emission tomography-computed tomography which revealed abnormal (18)F-FDG accumulation in the region of pineal gland, pericardium and bilateral distal tibiae.

Bilateral anterior glenohumeral dislocation and coracoid processes fracture after seizure: acute MRI findings of this rare association.
We report a rare case of bilateral anterior shoulder dislocation associated with coracoid processes fracture after a seizure episode in a 37-year-old woman. This combination of findings is rare, especially by the presence of bilateral coracoid processes fracture. ⋯ Few reports published similar combination of injuries, and to our knowledge, this is the first to demonstrate its acute features by magnetic resonance imaging. A review of the literature is also presented.

Inadvertent insertion of a nasogastric tube into the brain: case report and review of the literature.
The inadvertent insertion of a nasogastric tube (NGT) into the brain of a trauma patient with skull base fractures is reported. A 52-year-old male with head trauma was referred following a car accident with an NGT in situ. ⋯ The NGT was immediately removed manually. The patient finally went through neurosurgical operation because of an extradural hematoma, with normal postoperative course and outcome.

Sequestrated thoracic disc herniation mimicking a tumoral lesion in the spinal canal--a case report.
Calcified thoracic disc sequestration is a very rare disease. Unusual sequestered disc fragments mimic spinal tumors and other space-occupying lesions due to a lack of discernible clinical features that can be used to differentiate these disc fragments from disc herniations and tumoral lesions. In this report, we describe a patient with a dorsally sequestrated calcified disc fragment in the thoracic spine that mimicked a bony tumoral lesion of the spinal canal and present a literature review. Thoracic disc sequestration accompanied by an atypical location requires a systematic diagnostic approach involving accurate preoperative history and careful radiographic evaluation.
