High area deprivation index is associated with increased injury severity in pediatric burn patients.
Burn injuries play a significant role in pediatric injury-related mortality and morbidity. In this study, we aim to explore the relationship between patient demographics, socioeconomic factos and burn severity in pediatric patients. ⋯ In burn injury patients, further research is necessary to investigate modifiable risk factors in individuals of Caucasian race or lower socioeconomic status to target effective prevention campaigns.

Complex challenges face clinicians managing critically ill patients with burns, particularly in the context of enhancing outcomes after a stay in ICU. Compounding this, a dearth of research explores the specific and modifiable factors that impact early mobilization in the ICU environment. ⋯ Patient, clinician and workplace barriers and enablers were identified to influencing the likelihood of achieving early mobilization of patients with burns in the ICU. Emotional support for staff through multidisciplinary collaboration and development of structured burns training program were key recommendations to address barriers and strengthen enablers to early mobilization of patients with burns in the ICU.

Burn injuries in childhood create serious trauma for both children and their caregivers. Burn injuries require extensive nursing care to reduce complications and to restore optimal functional health conditions. When children receive burn treatment and their caregivers are migrants with different languages, religions, and habits, nurses must adopt a cultural approach while caring for such patients. ⋯ The results of this study provide a novel insight into nurses' experiences with migrant child patients and their caregivers, and can be used to develop action plans to provide effective cultural care for patients receiving burn treatment and their caregivers.

The study aim was to investigate if Suprathel® can be an adequate alternative to Mepilex® Ag for the treatment of partial-thickness scalds in children. ⋯ Two different treatments were compared for children with partial-thickness scalds, and the data indicates that similar results are received with both dressings.
