Killip classification is a practical clinical tool for risk stratification in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). However, its prognostic role in myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary artery (MINOCA) is still poorly explored. Our purpose was to evaluate the prognostic role of high Killip class in the specific setting of MINOCA and compare the results with a cohort of patients with obstructive coronary arteries myocardial infarction (MIOCA). ⋯ Killip classification confirmed its prognostic impact on short- and long-term outcomes also in a selected MINOCA population, which still craves for a baseline risk stratification.

GLIM-diagnosed malnutrition predicts mortality and risk of hospitalization in systemic sclerosis: A retrospective study.
Malnutrition is a well-known risk factor for morbidity and mortality in many clinical settings and only few studies assessed the role of malnutrition on systemic sclerosis (SSc) patients' outcomes. The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the role of malnutrition as a predictive risk factor for mortality and/or hospitalization in SSc patients during a 4-year follow-up. ⋯ Malnutrition according to GLIM criteria represents a significant predictive risk factor for composite end-point of mortality and risk of hospitalization in SSc patients.

Aortic stiffness plays a role in the discrepancy between mitral valve lesion severity and hemodynamic burden of secondary mitral regurgitation.
By the framework of proportionate/disproportionate secondary mitral regurgitation (sMR), disproportionate sMR is characterized by a low left ventricular stroke volume (SV) and an out of proportion regurgitant fraction (RF) for the same effective regurgitant orifice area (EROA). The degree of aortic stiffness is a determinant of the ventricular forward SV. We aim to analyze the importance of aortic stiffness in influencing the discrepancy between measures of mitral valve lesion severity (EROA) and sMR hemodynamic burden (regurgitant volume [RV] and RF). ⋯ In this HFrEF cohort with sMR, higher PWV was associated with higher-than-expected RF for a given EROA. Aortic stiffness might play a role in the discrepancy between mitral valve lesion severity and sMR hemodynamic burden.

Prevalence of anti-synthetase antibodies among systemic sclerosis patients.
we aimed to estimate the prevalence of Amino acyl-transfer ribonucleic acid synthetase antibodies (Anti-ARS); myositis specific antibodies, among patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc), to evaluate the clinical associations of anti-ARS antibodies in SSc patients and to identify risk factors for development of interstitial lung disease (ILD) in SSc. ⋯ Anti-ARS antibodies were observed in 6% of SSc patients. All of them had ILD. Due to the low prevalence of anti-ARS, this study could not describe clinical associations of anti-ARS antibodies in SSc patients.
