Multicenter StudyThe Diagnosis of Acute Myocarditis in Emergency (DAME) score: improving diagnostics within the emergency department.
. The final diagnosis of myocarditis is challenging. The aim of our study was to provide the D.A.M.E. (Diagnosis of Acute Myocarditis in Emergency) Score for the fast identification of patients suffering from myocarditis at Emergency Department (ED). ⋯ . DAME score can offer a reliable tool in ED setting for the evaluation of patients suffering from suspected myocarditis.

Multicenter StudyNegligible HCC risk during stringently defined untreated immune-tolerant phase of chronic hepatitis B.
Whether chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients during immune-tolerant (IT) phase are at low risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is still controversial. We performed a multicenter study to determine their long-term prognosis. ⋯ No actual HCC risk during untreated IT phase defined by age and HBV-DNA criteria of the AASLD guideline exists, supporting their diagnostic validity from the perspective of long-term prognosis. Further validation studies are required.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyUse of hydroxychloroquine in hospitalised COVID-19 patients is associated with reduced mortality: Findings from the observational multicentre Italian CORIST study.
Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) was proposed as potential treatment for COVID-19. ⋯ HCQ use was associated with a 30% lower risk of death in COVID-19 hospitalized patients. Within the limits of an observational study and awaiting results from randomized controlled trials, these data do not discourage the use of HCQ in inpatients with COVID-19.

Multicenter StudyPrevalence and risk factors for pulmonary embolism in patients with suspected acute exacerbation of COPD: a multi-center study.
Pulmonary embolism (PE) prevalence in acute exacerbations of COPD is highly variable. ⋯ PE prevalence is not negligible in this setting. A number of risk factors may help clinicians in identification of patients at increased risk of PE.

Multicenter StudyInfluence of sex on long-term prognosis in patients with atrial fibrillation treated with oral anticoagulants. Results from the prospective, nationwide FANTASIIA study.
While many risk factors for Atrial Fibrillation (AF) have been identified, there are important differences in their relative impact between sexes. The aim of our study was to investigate the influence of sex as a long-term predictor of adverse events in "real world" AF patients treated with direct oral anticoagulants. ⋯ In this "real world" study of anticoagulated AF patients, women could have a protective role against development of adverse events, mainly on all-cause mortality and combined events.
