Meta AnalysisIncidence of endocrine and exocrine insufficiency in patients with autoimmune pancreatitis at diagnosis and after treatment: aA systematic review and meta-analysis.
Autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) is a rare form of pancreatitis that may lead to endocrine and exocrine insufficiency if left untreated. AIP clinically responds to glucocorticoids (GCs) therapy, but multiple GCs courses are often required to maintain remission with detrimental effects on glycaemic control. ⋯ A large proportion of patients with AIP displays concomitant exocrine and endocrine insufficiency at the time of diagnosis. The incidence of diabetes at the longest available follow up tends to increase in patients treated with GCs.

Meta AnalysisP2Y12 inhibitors plus aspirin for acute treatment and secondary prevention in minor stroke and high-risk transient ischemic attack: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Aspirin is a cornerstone of preventive treatment for stroke recurrence, but during the last few years the role of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) is much more emerging. ⋯ Early administration of P2Y12 inhibitors plus aspirin in patients with acute non-cardioembolic minor ischemic stroke or TIA reduced the incidence of ischemic stroke recurrence, impacting more significantly than the increased bleeding risk and influencing patients' quality of life by reducing disabling stroke.

Meta AnalysisAntiseptic barrier caps in central line-associated bloodstream infections: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To evaluate the evidence concerning the effectiveness of antiseptic barrier caps vs. manual disinfection in preventing central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI). ⋯ Antiseptic barrier caps appear to be effective in reducing CLABSI. The real-world impact needs to be confirmed by RCTs.

Meta AnalysisMortality and its risk factors in critically ill patients with connective tissue diseases: A meta-analysis.
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS), systemic sclerosis (SSc), idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are connective tissue diseases (CTD) whose complications can lead to management in the intensive care unit (ICU). ⋯ The overall pooled proportion of mortality of ICU patients with CTD was 33% (95%CI: 28-38%), with a high heterogeneity (I2= 89%). In the subgroup analysis, mortality was higher for patients with IIM and SSc.

Meta AnalysisHigh-sensitivity troponins for outcome prediction in the general population: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
High-sensitivity (hs) assays allow to measure cardiac troponin T and I (cTnT/I) even in healthy individuals. The higher hs-cTn values, the higher the ongoing cardiomyocyte damage, and then reasonably the risk of developing symptomatic cardiac disease. ⋯ hs-cTn values hold strong prognostic value in subjects from the general population, predicting the risk of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality, cardiovascular events, and HF hospitalization.
