Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of elastic band exercise on the frailty states in pre-frail elderly people.
To discuss the effects of elastic band exercise on the frailty states in pre-frail elderly people. ⋯ Elastic band exercise can improve frailty states in pre-frail elderly people, make them broke away from pre-frailty and restore them to non-frailty through improving the grip strength, walking speed and physical activity, and the effects after 8 weeks are better than those after 4 weeks.

The effectiveness of pain neuroscience education combined with manual therapy and home exercise for chronic low back pain: A single-blind randomized controlled trial.
The aim of this study was to investigate the short- and mid-term effects of pain neuroscience education (PNE) combined with manual therapy (MT) and a home exercise program (HEP) on pain intensity, back performance, disability, and kinesiophobia in patients with chronic low back pain (CLBP). Methods: This study was designed as a prospective, randomized, controlled, single-blind study in which 69 participants were randomly assigned to three groups. Participants in Group 1 received PNE, MT, and the HEP, while Group 2 received MT and the HEP. ⋯ The participants in Group 1 exhibited greater improvement in terms of pain intensity and kinesiophobia compared to the participants in Group 2 and the control group. Level of disability was significantly decreased in both Group 1 and Group 2 compared to the control group. Conclusion: This study suggests that a multimodal treatment program combining PNE, MT, and HEP is an effective method for improving back performance and reducing pain, disability, and kinesiophobia in the short (4 weeks) and midterm (12 weeks).

Multicenter Study Observational StudyEvidence-based management of patients with vertigo, dizziness, and imbalance at an Australian metropolitan health service: an observational study of clinical practice.
To determine whether patients presenting to the emergency department (ED) with possible benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) are managed in accordance with best practice guidelines, and whether physiotherapists are involved in their care. ⋯ Adherence to best-practice guidelines for the management of BPPV in individuals presenting to the ED is low, and physiotherapists are seldom involved in their management.

Development, preliminary validation and reliability testing of SEDA - Self-Efficacy in Daily Activities for children with pain.
Self-efficacy can affect a child's ability to perform important activities, infuse him/her with a sense of control and is likely an integral target for successful treatment in pediatric pain rehabilitation. Modern physical therapy treatment includes behavioral aspects and valid measures of self-efficacy are important for both research and clinical practice. In this study, the aim was to develop and perform preliminary testing of a self-efficacy scale for children and adolescents with pain. ⋯ The 16-item SEDA has satisfactory psychometric properties in children moderately affected by long-term pain. Further validation of the SEDA in other populations and confirmatory analyses are warranted.
