Comparative StudyPre- and postoperative MR brain imaging with automatic planning and scanning software in tumor patients: an intraindividual comparative study at 3 Tesla.
To evaluate the feasibility of automatic planning and scanning of brain MR imaging (MRI) protocols on a clinical 3 Tesla system in tumor patients before and after neurosurgical intervention. ⋯ Automatic planning and scanning before and after brain surgery yields robust results in most of the patients with substantial shape deviations. The dimensions of necessary geometry corrections are predominantly small. These results are promising to minimize interscan variability in longitudinal studies.

Fast spin-echo triple-echo Dixon: initial clinical experience with a novel pulse sequence for fat-suppressed T2-weighted abdominal MR imaging.
To evaluate a prototype fast spin echo (FSE) triple-echo-Dixon (fTED) technique for breath-hold, fat-suppressed, T2-weighted abdominal imaging. ⋯ FTED is a robust sequence providing breath-hold T2-weighted images with superior fat suppression, excellent image quality, and at least equal depiction of disease compared to conventional breath-hold T2-weighted FRFSE imaging.

Comparative Study Clinical TrialDiffusion-weighted imaging of the liver: comparison of navigator triggered and breathhold acquisitions.
To compare a free breathing navigator triggered single shot echoplanar imaging (SS EPI) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) sequence with prospective acquisition correction (PACE) with a breathhold (BH) DWI sequence for liver imaging. ⋯ The use of a navigator echo to trigger SS EPI DWI improves image quality and liver to lesion contrast, and enables a more precise ADC quantification compared with BH DWI acquisition.

Effect of shot number on the calculated apparent diffusion coefficient in phantoms and in human liver in diffusion-weighted echo-planar imaging.
To show the signal intensity varies with shot number in diffusion-weighted (DW) echo-planar imaging (EPI) and affects apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) calculation. ⋯ The signal intensity can vary with shot number in SE EPI. For TR > or = 3000 msec, steady-state is attained after one shot. Using data acquired prior to steady-state confounds the calculation of ADC values.

Initial experience on utility of gadobenate dimeglumine (Gd-BOPTA) enhanced T1-weighted MR cholangiography in diagnosis of acute cholecystitis.
To investigate the feasibility of the use of gadobenate dimeglumine (also known as Gd-BOPTA) -enhanced T1-weighted MR cholangiography in diagnosis of acute cholecystitis. ⋯ In addition to anatomical assessment, Gd-BOPTA-enhanced MR cholangiography can provide functional evaluation similar to HIDA scintigraphy in diagnosing acute cholecystitis in patients with acute right upper quadrant pain and equivocal findings.
