[Characteristics of oral anti-coagulation treatment in high-risk chronic auricular fibrillation].
To calculate the prevalence of chronic auricular fibrillation (CAF), how much of it is considered high-risk (CAFhr) and the degree of coverage with oral anti-coagulation treatment (OAT). ⋯ 40% of the CAF are high-risk. In over a third of patients OAT was indicated after a vascular complication linked to an unknown CAF. The INR between 2-3 is similar in PC centres and the corresponding haematology service.

[Influence of physician and physician list characteristics on influenza vaccination rates in older people in a health care area in the community of Valencia, Spain].
To identify the characteristics of physicians and the patients on their list related with rates of influenza vaccination in older people, and to quantify influenza vaccination coverage in this population group. ⋯ Influenza vaccination rates for older people were low and similar to rates reported earlier for this region of Spain. The percentage of older people in the list was the only explanatory variable in the model, and was inversely proportional to vaccination coverage.

[Lipid control in secondary prevention: multicenter observational study in primary care].
To assess the implementation of pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment in coronary patients followed in primary care. ⋯ Although a clear improved was observed in the control of lipids and other risk factors, there is still a considerable potential to raise standards in secondary prevention of coronary patients followed in primary care concerning control of cardiovascular risk factors, particularly total cholesterol and lipid fractions.

[Prevalence of the HIV infection in patients seen at specialized diagnosis centers in 9 cities in Spain from 1992 to 2001].
To describe the prevalence of HIV infection in persons tested between 1992 and 2001. ⋯ The specialized diagnostic centers play an important role in diagnosing HIV, and this service complements primary care services. Greater efforts are needed in the prevention of HIV infection.

[Efficacy of an intervention to improve treatment compliance in hyperlipidemias].
To analyse the efficacy of the intervention through a telephone call about patients' compliance with lipaemia therapy. ⋯ The telephone intervention is an efficacious way of improving the percentage of patients complying with lipaemia treatment.
