To find the prevalence of postnatal depression in puerperal women in the city of Albacete and to analyse its association with social and demographic factors, morbidity and social and affective support. ⋯ Between 11.8% and 19.8% of women between the sixth and eighth week of the puerperal period display a probable depression, which is linked to depression immediately after delivery. This disorder needs to be detected during the puerperal visit.

To find the views and approach of primary care professionals in this Health Area to questions referring to restrictions on tobacco consumption, possibilities of intervention and resources devoted to monitoring tobacco dependency. ⋯ There is a broad consensus on restricting tobacco consumption in determined places and applying methods in primary care to facilitate giving up tobacco. A critical attitude to the state on its tobacco policy was noted.

To assess whether scores on the minimum technical norms (MTN) of the diabetes mellitus programme are of use in determining the level of metabolic control achieved. ⋯ Scoring on the MTN has little value in predicting lower values of HbA1C and is no use in assessing the level of metabolic control achieved by the Diabetes programme. The evaluation of the programme should include results indicators.
