Multicenter StudyThe Impact of Adjuvant Therapy on Survival and Recurrence Patterns in Women With Early-Stage Uterine Carcinosarcoma: A Multi-institutional Study.
The aim of the study was to characterize the impact of adjuvant therapy on survival in women with stage I/II uterine carcinosarcoma after primary surgery. ⋯ In women with early-stage uterine carcinosarcoma, our data suggest superior survival end points with combined RT and chemotherapy. The frequency of vaginal recurrence suggests a role for incorporating vaginal brachytherapy in the adjuvant management of this disease.

Comparative StudyThe Treatment of Pelvic Locoregional Recurrence of Cervical Cancer After Radical Surgery With Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy Compared With Conventional Radiotherapy: A Retrospective Study.
The aim of this study was to investigate the therapeutic response and toxicity of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) or conventional radiotherapy (c-RT) as adjuvant therapy in patients with pelvic locoregional recurrence of cervical cancer after radical surgery. ⋯ Intensity-modulated radiation therapy achieved outcomes superior to c-RT in patients with pelvic locoregional recurrence of cervical cancer after radical surgery. The acute and chronic toxicities were acceptable, and the adjacent organs at risk were well protected.

Clinical Application of Diffusion-Weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Uterine Cervical Cancer.
This study aimed to investigate the application value of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values in evaluating histological type as well as pathologic grade of uterine cervical cancer; and to investigate whether ADC values could reflect tumor cellular density. ⋯ Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging has a potential ability to indicate the histologic type of uterine cervical cancer. Apparent diffusion coefficient measurements of uterine cervical cancer can represent tumor cellular density, thus providing a new method for evaluating the pathological grade of tumor.

Ultrasound-guided subcostal transversus abdominis plane infiltration with liposomal bupivacaine for patients undergoing robotic-assisted hysterectomy: a retrospective study.
We sought to determine the effect of a subcostal transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block with liposomal bupivacaine on postoperative maximal pain score and length of hospital stay among women undergoing robotic-assisted hysterectomy. ⋯ In this retrospective study, liposomal bupivacaine used in a TAP block was a useful method to provide postoperative pain control in patients undergoing robotic-assisted hysterectomy and was associated with lower postoperative maximal pain scores and length of hospital stay.

Preoperative MRI and intraoperative frozen section diagnosis of myometrial invasion in patients with endometrial cancer.
The rate of lymph node metastasis is extremely low in patients with low-risk endometrial cancer; lymphadenectomy may be unnecessary for these patients under an accurate preoperative diagnosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of myometrial invasion (MI) on preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and intraoperative frozen sections (FSs). ⋯ Frozen sections had a higher agreement rate for MI than MRI; however, MRI is still considered an acceptable modality to guide preoperative decisions regarding lymphadenectomy especially in grade 1 or 2 endometrioid adenocarcinoma.
