Clinical TrialPredictors of functional outcome in patients with traumatic spinal cord injury after inpatient rehabilitation: in Saudi Arabia.
To identify the possible factors influencing motor functional outcome of patients with traumatic spinal cord injury (T-SCI) after inpatient rehabilitation. ⋯ Age was not predictor of motor functional outcome and rehabilitation can be effective in elderly SCI patients. Rehabilitation intervention should begin as soon as possible. The admission motor FIM score, level and severity of injury, interval between onset and admission, anxiety/depression score, and length of stay can be used to predict functional outcomes of rehabilitation in SCI patients.

Controlled Clinical TrialThe effects of pilates on balance, mobility and strength in patients with multiple sclerosis.
Although there are evidences as to Pilates developing dynamic balance, muscle strength and flexibility in healthy people, evidences related to its effects on Multiple Sclerosis patients are insufficient. ⋯ Due to its structure which is made up of balance and strengthening exercises, Pilates training may develop balance, mobility and muscle strength of MS patients. For this reason, we think that, Pilates exercises which are appropriate for the disability level of the patient may be suggested.

Multilevel modeling of partnered relationship trajectories and relationship stability at 1, 2, and 5 years after traumatic brain injury in Norway.
The aims of this study were to examine (a) predictors of partnered relationship probability trajectories and relationship stability across 1, 2, and 5 years after traumatic brain injury, and (b) influences on the slopes of these trajectories. ⋯ The identification of these influences on partnered relationship probability trajectories and stability could help clinicians and researchers develop and refine early interventions to reduce relationship dissolution in the first several years after brain injury.

Controlled Clinical TrialEffect of exercise on balance in persons with mild cognitive impairment.
Individuals with definite cognitive impairment and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) show motor dysfunction. ⋯ Persons with MCI had poorer balance control ability as compared with normal healthy persons. More than one year of steady exercise can be helpful for the improvement of balance in both MCI and normal persons.

High doses of a new botulinum toxin type A (NT-201) in adult patients with severe spasticity following brain injury and cerebral palsy.
Spasticity can be a severe disabling disorder requiring high-dose injections of botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A). Efficacy and safety of high BoNT-A doses in reducing multi-level spasticity of subjects with brain injury and cerebral palsy were investigated. Pain and functional outcome were also assessed. ⋯ High-dose BoNT-A injections were effective and safe in reducing spasticity of BI and CP subjects. A significant reduction of the pain was also observed, but global functionality and arm dexterity were unchanged.
