(1) To identify the factors predicting arterial extravasation in pelvic trauma and (2) to assess the efficacy of preperitoneal pelvic packing (PPP) in controlling arterial hemorrhage. ⋯ • Unstable Young-Burgess pelvic fractures are predictors of arterial hemorrhage in pelvic trauma. • Pelvic angiography and embolization should precede PPP wherever feasible.

To analyze the most frequent radiographic features of COVID-19 pneumonia and assess the effectiveness of chest X-ray (CXR) in detecting pulmonary alterations. ⋯ • The predominant lung changes were GGO and reticular alteration, while consolidation was less frequent. • The typical distribution pattern was bilateral, peripheral, or both peripheral and central and involved predominantly the lower and middle fields. • Chest radiography showed lung abnormalities in 75% of patients with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection, range varied from 63.3 to 83.9%, respectively, at 0-2 days and > 9 days from the onset of symptoms.

The objective of this systematic review was to evaluate the key imaging manifestations of COVID-19 on chest CT in adult patients by providing a comprehensive review of the published literature. ⋯ • Ground glass opacities (GGOs), whether isolated or coexisting with consolidations, in bilateral and subpleural distribution, are the most prevalent chest CT findings in adult COVID-19 patients. • Follow-up CT shows a progression of GGOs into a mixed pattern, reaching a peak at 10-11 days, before gradually resolving or persisting as patchy fibrosis. • Younger people tend to have more GGOs. Older or sicker people tend to have more extensive involvement with consolidations.

Speed of sound ultrasound: comparison with proton density fat fraction assessed with Dixon MRI for fat content quantification of the lower extremity.
To compare speed of sound (SoS) ultrasound (US) of the calves with Dixon magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for fat content quantification. ⋯ • Correlations of speed of sound with Dixon MRI fat fraction measurements of the same body location were very strong to moderate. • Speed of sound measurements showed a high repeatability. • Speed of sound provides a sufficient discrimination range for fat fraction estimates.

The study aimed to validate automated quantification of high and low signal intensity volumes using ultrashort echo-time MRI, with CT and pulmonary function test (PFT) as references, to assess the severity of structural alterations in cystic fibrosis (CF). ⋯ Automated quantification of abnormal signal intensity volumes relates to CF severity and allows reproducible cross-sectional and longitudinal assessment.
