Lung base CT findings in COVID-19 adult patients presenting with acute abdominal complaints: case series from a major New York City health system.
To describe demographic, clinical, and lung base CT findings in COVID-19 patients presenting with abdominal complaints. ⋯ • COVID-19 infected patients can present with acute abdominal symptoms, especially in non-elderly patients with underlying health conditions, and may frequently require hospitalisation (81%). • There was no difference in lung base CT findings between patients who were discharged and those who were hospitalised. • Lung base CT findings included multifocal and peripheral ground-glass opacities, consistent with published reports.

COVID-19 impact assessment on the French radiological centers: a nationwide survey.
To determine the impact of the COVID-19 on the CT activities in French radiological centers during the epidemic peak. ⋯ • Over the 4-week survey period, 117,686 chest CT (CTtotal) were performed among the responding centers, including 61,784 (52%) CT performed for COVID-19 (CTcovid). • Across the country, the ratio CTcovid/CTtotal varied from 0.36 to 0.59 and depended significantly on the local epidemic density (p = 0.003). • In clinical practice, in a context of growing epidemic, in France, chest CT was used as a surrogate to RT-PCR for patient triage.

Radiofrequency ablation versus repeat resection for recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma (≤ 5 cm) after initial curative resection.
Recurrence rate is up to 70% at 5 years for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after initial resection, but the management of recurrent HCC remains unclear. To compare the efficacy and safety of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and repeat resection as the first-line treatment in recurrent HCC. ⋯ • Recurrence rate is up to 70% at 5 years for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after initial resection. • RFA has the same efficacy as repeat resection in recurrent HCC patients, but with fewer complications. • RFA may be preferred for those with 2 or 3 recurrent HCC nodules.

To investigate whether pretreatment MRI-based radiomics of locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) and/or the surrounding mesorectal compartment (MC) can predict pathologic complete response (pCR), neoadjuvant rectal (NAR) score, and tumor regression grade (TRG). ⋯ • Machine learning of rectal cancer on images from the pretreatment MRI can predict important patient outcomes with moderate accuracy. • The tumor and the tissue around it both contain important prognostic information.

Clinical characteristics and chest CT imaging features of critically ill COVID-19 patients.
To compare clinical, laboratory, and chest computed tomography (CT) findings in critically ill patients diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) who survived and who died. ⋯ • Almost all patients critically ill with COVID-19 pneumonia had five lung lobes involved. • Medial or parahilar area involvement and degree of lung involvement were more serious in the deceased patients when compared with those who recovered from treatment. • Chronic lung disease, e.g., emphysema, diabetes, and higher serum CRP and NLR characterized patients who died of COVID-19.
