Analysis of the association between selected factors and outcomes of treadmill gait training with biofeedback in patients with chronic stroke.
To examine the effects of age, time from stroke onset, gender and side of paresis in gait re-education with the use of treadmill with biofeedback, in patients with chronic stroke. ⋯ Age, duration of time from stroke onset, and sex do not affect outcomes of gait re-education based on treadmill training in patients at a chronic stage post-stroke and Brunnstrom recovery stage 3-4. Side of paresis significantly differentiates rehabilitation outcomes measured with speed test. The best scores in all the performance measures before rehabilitation were identified in the group 3-6 years after stroke.

Associations between the severity of disability level and fear of movement and pain beliefs in patients with chronic low back pain.
Low back pain (LBP) is one of the leading forms of chronic pain and is among the leading causes of pain and disability. In this study, we investigated the associations between the severity of disability and fear of movement and pain beliefs as well as the impact of the fear of movement and pain beliefs on the quality of life in patients with chronic LBP. ⋯ Our study revealed high levels of kinesiophobia and similar pain beliefs, independent of the severity level of disability. We believe that cognitive-behavioral therapy that may reduce fear-avoidance behaviors and convert negative pain beliefs into positive ones should be added to rehabilitation procedures for LBP.

Prevalence of low back pain in young Brazilians and associated factors: Sex, physical activity, sedentary behavior, sleep and body mass index.
Low back pain (LBP) has become increasingly common, but the prevalence of this complaint and associated factors in young people remains controversial. ⋯ Youngsters reported a high prevalence of LBP. Girls were at greater risk of LBP than boys. It is recommended that prevention strategies focus on the practices of physical activities and scholar physical education. No association of LBP with sedentary lifestyle (TV and computer use time, sleep time), anthropometric measures and sleeping duration was observed.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffect of repeated application of rigid tape on pain and mobility deficits associated with sacroiliac joint dysfunction.
Sacroiliac joint dysfunction (SIJD) accounts for up to 30% of patients with low back pain. Rigid taping techniques are often used for conservative treatment of SIJD related symptoms; however, its effectiveness has not been systematically evaluated. ⋯ Two weeks of rigid tape for anterior innominate correction successfully reduced symptoms related to SIJD.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyEffects of active versus passive upper extremity neural mobilization combined with mechanical traction and joint mobilization in females with cervical radiculopathy: A randomized controlled trial.
Neural mobilization is an effective technique in the management of cervical radiculopathy (CR). However, the difference between active versus passive upper extremity (UE) neural mobilization techniques in the management of cervical radiculopathy is not well established. ⋯ Both active and passive neural mobilization is effective in the management of cervical radiculopathy. One of the interventions is not superior to the other.
