Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyComparison of pressure release, phonophoresis and dry needling in treatment of latent myofascial trigger point of upper trapezius muscle.
Latent myofascial trigger point (LMTP) is a small hypersensitive area in skeletal muscles that becomes painful under compression or stimulation. LMTPs are relevant for various musculoskeletal disorders. Although several treatments have been introduced to treat LMTP, the most efficient one is yet to be found. ⋯ Considering the significant, positive effects of all three methods, dry needling and phonophoresis seem to be more effective than pressure release.

Randomized Controlled TrialExtracorporeal shockwave therapy vs. kinesiotherapy for osteoarthritis of the knee: A pilot randomized controlled trial.
Osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee is a degenerative, painful pathology, needing conservative treatment for symptoms' relief. ⋯ ESWT improves WOMAC and ROM better then KIN on the affected knee in patients with OA of the knee.

Comparative Study Clinical TrialComparison of radiofrequency kyphoplasty and balloon kyphoplasty in combination with posterior fixation for the treatment of vertebral fractures.
In case of complex vertebral fractures, posterior fixation is often required for correction of deformity and instability. Fixation is commonly supported by balloon kyphoplasty (BKP) anterior. A development of BKP is radiofrequency-targeted vertebral augmentation (RF-TVA), which leads to comparable results for augmentation and pain relief. ⋯ Combining posterior fixation with RF-TVA leads to better results of VAS and ODI, whereas the vertebral height restoration was favorable for patients treated with BKP. Cement leakage was comparable between both groups. It was asymptomatic and within reported ranges. Limitations of this study are the patient number and different stabilization instrumentation.

Randomized Controlled TrialDoes kinesiotaping increase the efficacy of lidocaine injection in myofascial pain syndrome treatment? A randomized controlled study.
Myofascial pain syndrome is a common form of musculoskeletal disorder that originates from a painful site in a muscle or related fascia. There are various non-invasive and invasive treatment methods. ⋯ This study indicated that kinesiotaping may be useful to increase the efficacy of myofascial trigger point lidocaine injection in myofascial pain syndrome.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudySquatting versus squatting with hip adduction in management of patellofemoral osteoarthritis: A randomized controlled trial.
Patellofemoral osteoarthritis is a common presentation in the outpatients' physical therapy clinics. The muscle imbalance between the vastus medialis oblique and vastus lateralis muscles is one of the main factors that lead to the development of this condition. ⋯ Both a traditional physical therapy program in addition to squatting exercise and a traditional physical therapy program in addition to squatting exercise with hip adduction are effective in reduction of pain intensity increases performance of functional activities, and vastus medialis oblique amplitude. However, there is no superiority of one program over the other.
